Revert

[edit]

I have just reverted the article back a couple of months. Caste-affiliated websites are not reliable sources, nor are ethnographies etc of the Raj era. These issues have been discussed time and again at various venues with regard to various castes/clans/tribes and have always ended with the same outcome. Please try to find more modern, independent sources for expansion of this article. - Sitush (talk) 09:26, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alternate names

[edit]

An IP has just reinstated this edit, which adjusts the alternate names of the clan and removes a chunk. They posted on my talk page to explain that "Gahlots are one of the many groups of Rajputs, but they are different from the Guhils or Guhilots of Mewar".

I am going to check whatever sources I can access but would appreciate other comments. - Sitush (talk) 14:18, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I notice that Gohil dynasty makes a connection between the a dynasty of Mewar and this lot. Not sure that the dynastic stuff is particularly policy-compliant, though, either here or at the Gohil dynasty article. - Sitush (talk) 14:21, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The sources we cite at present refer to all but Gohel. They do not mention Guhil or Guhilots and they do seem to be referring to a community in Saurashtra/Gujarat rather than Mewar/Rajasthan. Our article for Guhilot redirects to this one, which would be need to be changed if the IP is correct. - Sitush (talk) 14:27, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Any one having any confusion regarding whether what is the caste of gehlot ,then,it is a rajput clan and for assuring this you can read about king BAPPA rawal , you'll come to know the history of sisodia guhilaut or gehlot rajputs . It is a rajput community! Praa.bolt (talk) 16:14, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Joon (2017)

[edit]

I can't find the quote referenced in Joon (2017). It does not appear in the book when I bring up the DOI. Snowman304|talk 08:14, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
