On the subject of merging this article with the main Phil Murphy article
[edit]I am proposing moving most of the content from this page into Phil Murphy. This is for several reasons-
1) Most governors do not have a "Governorship of..." page. These pages usually only exist for certain significant governorships. For who is, at the moment, a one-term governor who has been in office for slightly over a year, this seems unnecessary - not a single governor who was elected after 2016 even has an article like this, considering so little time has passed.
2) This page contains way too much information. It goes into too much detail on Murphy's policy positions and places too much emphasis on minor events. If this article were to be merged with Phil Murphy, I'd recommend that some information be left out or written in a less verbose manner.
3) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm honestly under the impression that this page is either edited by people connected to Governor Murphy or strong supporters of his. Very little of the controversy or disagreements resulting from Murphy's governorship are mentioned, and everything seems to be written in an overwhelmingly positive light.
4) The Governor Murphy page is invalid since it's missing alot of information, including his questionable immigration of illegal alien policy that has caused three New Jersey counties to take Murphy to count over. The Governor Murphy page is wrong and is for some reason being blocked from any factual information being added to it. This only proves that Wikipedia prides itself in blocking the truth and promotes communism. Nobody should use the Wikipedia Governor Murphy page should never be used to quote anythng since it is incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.83.116.195 (talk) 04:51, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

- 1) Wikipedia:Other stuff exists arguments not valid. See
This article was nominated for deletion on 8 March 2018. The result of the discussion was no consensus.
- 2) There are not details or examples of what you are mentioning. Information is fact based about staff, executive orders, and legislation signed with references provided. What is is too verbose? Seems to be succint: 1/2 sentences, w/ reference, no?
- 3) While enttled to them, your impressions are not really a valid talking points. You are of course welcome to add any provide information you find relevent, providing a citation for it.

- Support Merge For reasons stated above. Phil Murphy is no more or less notable than the average governor who does not have such a page. Content can be trimmed and merged. I will not accuse the main contributors to this article of being part of Murphy's administration or campaign, but certainly they are supporters of his since no negative information appears in this article.--Rusf10 (talk) 17:40, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

- See WP:CFORK, an actual guideline. We do not need to detail every piece of legislation that Murphy has ever signed or every issue he took a position on during his campaign. A brief summary in the main article would be fine, otherwise people can go to his campaign website.--Rusf10 (talk) 23:30, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia:Merging Djflem (talk) 00:14, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- Interesting WP:Merging would seem to support merging these two article. "Duplicate: There are two or more pages on exactly the same subject, with the same scope."--Rusf10 (talk) 00:43, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- "with the same scope" being the interesting part.Djflem (talk) 07:15, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

- Support merge This is a shoddy content fork – why the hell was this created so the Phil Murphy article is completely devoid of anything about his tenure? If you think there's enough content for a separate article, use WP:SUMMARYSTYLE but I do not believe this needs a separate page, especially when most of its length is one-sentence sections about bills signed or positions held. - Oppose merge; Governorship of Phil Murphy is being actively expanded, and is linked by a main template as per WP:SUMMARYSTYLE, which seems to be appropriate structure. Governorship of Phil Murphy is independently notable from the govenor, given both the importance of New Jersey and that a large team of people will be responsible for this activity (not just the govenor himself). Recall Petition Is Dead
[edit]The statement that "currently" a recall petition is underway is untrue and should be deleted. Here's a link supporting that recommendation. https://ballotpedia.org/Phil_Murphy_recall,_Governor_of_New_Jersey_(2020 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.53.133.163 (talk) 23:23, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
