Contentious statements

[edit]

The first section contains the sentence: "Originally founded by the late Dr Micheal Morbius who’s memory lives on throughout the schools great halls".

1) I was at the school for five years and this is the first I have heard of a Dr Morbius. 2) There are no "great halls"! The teaching areas of the school were built in the 1960s and 70s and are bland, brick and concrete classrooms. The manor house that was the original school (The Mansion Block) is small, only used for administration and also has no great halls. The main school assembly hall is a typical 1960's bland, small school hall.

They also mention: "...incorporating a large Victorian manor house and two of its associated cottages" but fail to mention that the "associated cottages" are lived in by caretakers.

Whoever used this hyperbole appears to be trying to "big up" the school to foster an impression of a traditional English public school.

Further to this, I have discovered that Dr Michael Morbius is a Marvel character! Proof required that their actually was such a real person.

Furthermore: does the school really have a house called Hufflepuff? Seems like someone has been up to mischief on this page.
