Style of Address

There seems to be a debate about the proper style of address for Roman Catholic bishops in the United States, with editors adding and removing "His Excellency" before the "Most Reverend" in the title of the individual. It is important to distinguish between the "Address" and the "Salutation." It is customary not to use both together. In an article on an individual, it would seem to be best to use the "Address" in the written title of the individual (in this case, the Most Reverend", while noting that the "Salutation" is used when speaking to the individual or writing to the individual.Jbebeau (talk) 20:46, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
