this must be mentionned in his page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.173.255.147 (talk) 16:07, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for engaging! I agree, and am adding a piece about this to the article. Cityonpyre (talk) 23:39, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why does it specifically have to be mentioned, Bowman was weak so they donated to Latimer, he did not win because they donated 14.5m. 2603:3006:400:300:8C4B:4256:384:D20F (talk) 18:54, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2017 car crash

[edit]

I added information abut this 2017 car crash but another Wikipedia editor suggested that it violated the NPOV rule for giving "undue" weight to a viewpoint. Since this is about factual events, I'm not clear how it's a "viewpoint" and to me it seems like information that belongs in this article. I'm not sure whether it should go under "Political career" or "Personal life." Thoughts from others?

Here's the article: https://www.lohud.com/story/news/local/westchester/2019/04/02/george-latimer-car-accident-lawsuit/3343210002/ Cityonpyre (talk) 22:55, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Here's my suggested revision for the text:
In 2019, Latimer faced a lawsuit following a July 2017 car crash in New Rochelle. The plantiff in the lawsuit said that Latimer had caused the collision by failing to yield, causing the plantiff "severe and permanent injury." At the time of the crash, Latimer was driving an aide's vehicle; his own car's registration had been suspended because of a high number of unpaid parking tickets. @Dcpoliticaljunkie not sure whether I'm supposed to tag you here to call you into the discussion but figured I would since the "BRD" strategy suggests that I discuss the edit with you. I wonder: do you think this information would be better presented under "Westchester County Executive"? Cityonpyre (talk) 23:21, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I believe a paragraph devoted to this is WP:UNDUE but let's see what others have to say if/they weigh in. Perhaps there's a consensus for inclusion. Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 15:56, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Please provide a reliable source. AIPAC is a foreign interest lobbying group and the campaign site is a self-published source. मल्ल (talk) 17:06, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"managed to unseat"

[edit]

I think it's probably better to just say that Latimer defeated Bowman in the primary, given that Latimer hasn't won the general election yet. I fully acknowledge that it is nigh impossible for Bowman to win, but he's still a Working Families Party candidate, and Latimer still has to defeat the Republican challenger in the general. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:08, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not to be too pedantic, you don't have to take the opponent's seat to have unseated them (think jousting). Whether or not Latimer wins the general election as expected, he did "unseat" Bowman by winning the primary (Bowman will decline the WFP line).
