"Racial abuse"

[edit]

I deleted the mention of the "racial abuse" done by Korbach. It is sourced by this article which discusses him in a passing mention only. On the other hand, none of the obituaries mentions it: see those on NOS, nu.nl, NRC, Powned, historiek.net, RTV Oost, Omroep Brabant, Voetbalcentraal.nl or de Volkskrant. Thus, the notability of this fact is questionable at best. Highlighting his 'racial abuse' (which is described as 'discrimination' in the source) is a textbook example of WP:UNDUE. It's covered in depth here, and also mentioned here (amongst others). Please remember that an obituary is not a full biography, and will not mention every single incident in a person's life. GiantSnowman 09:38, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Again, only a passing mention on a clickbait site (speaking to Korbach "It's not "football language," Fritz, it's just "being racist." - unaware he already was dead for two years),the other one doesn't mention Korbach's affair concerning Roy or Romario at all (as opposed to his alcoholism, and being a good employee in spite of that). I agree with you that it is a single incident, but doesn't that confirm that mentioning specifically THIS incident is WP:undue for an encyclopedic article?Jeff5102 (talk) 09:52, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This is something which is covered, by various sources to various levels of depth, and which relates directly to his professional career and what he is known for. If an author wrote a 'traditional' biography about Korbach, would it be mentioned? Of course it would. Therefore so should we. I'm not sure why you are trying to whitewash the racism. Whitewashing racism? Please, don't abandon WP:GF. We are not writing a 'traditional' biography about Korbach,we are writing an encyclopedic article. This needs WP:NPOV. Highlighting his one-time remarks above his reason to fame (promoting five times to the Eredivisie) named in the obituaries, and calling them 'racism' while the source says 'discrimination,' then the article is unencyclopedic.Jeff5102 (talk) 10:22, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
