Dalmatian in Britannica

[edit]

Sorry but Britannica says that he is born in Dalmatia and not that he is Dalmatian. Anyway the same Britannica sys that he is "early Italian Renaissance sculptor" and not "early Dalmatian Renaissance sculptor". So the refernce is biased and I leave it. --Ilario (talk) 15:39, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you.

  • Enciclopedia Italiana [1]

"LAURANA, Francesco - Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani."

  • The Oxford Dictionary of Art [2]

"Italian sculptor, born in Dalmatia, at that time subject to Venice."

  • Grove Art, Oxford University Press. [3]

"Italian sculptor and medallist. He was one of the most significant and most complex sculptors of the 15th century."

  • Academic American Encyclopedia. [4]

"Italian sculptor, grew up in a Venetian colony on the Dalmatian coast but executed most of his works in Italy"

  • The Oxford companion to art. [5]

"Italian sculptor Francesco Laurana"

  • The Renaissance of Roman Architecture. [6]

"The only Italian who is known to have worked in that country before then is Francesco Laurana".

See Talk:Luciano Laurana#Croatian or Italian. Your dismissive style reminds me of User:Velebit... --Joy [shallot] (talk) 17:47, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why would I want to compare your IPs? If you don't see how your style of writing is dismissive, you might need to take a step back and re-read it. Why would I be "Colon-el-Nuevo"? --Joy [shallot] (talk) 08:16, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Because you told me that I am the Velebit user. If you have any doubts compare the two IPs and you will understand the error. Joy, it was not my intention to be dismissive. Goodbye. --Daedalus&Ikaros (talk) 09:29, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
