Manuscript tablet

What sort of tool is exactly a "manuscript tablet" ? What evidence do we have that she used such a tool ?
In the case of Mozart's manuscripts, as we can see here the staff lines seem to be drawn by hand. Mozart also used a wax tablet : [1] [2]. Teofilo talk 14:10, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
