Fair use rationale for Image:Democrats Abroad logo.jpg
[edit]Image:Democrats Abroad logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:06, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid
[edit]Why are there photos of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid? I would expect photos to be referred to somehow in the article (or at least the context be explained in a caption), but there's nothing of that sort. Are their pictures there simply because they're "leaders" of the Democratic Party? --Micahbrwn (talk) 07:33, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Criticism of 2008 Global Primary
[edit]There should be citations of this criticism —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.40.147.69 (talk) 21:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes. The criticism is fairly obvious and uncontroversial, though, as the section makes clear. This was in a comment on the Washington Post's article on the Global Primary. Perhaps someone can insert a reference to it. --139.80.18.108 (talk) 22:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Can we take out the reference to the Canadian Supreme Court ruling as irrelevant? This is a U.S. election; the Canadian government scarcely has any say here. 66.137.226.161 (talk) 21:33, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- I’m an officer in my local Democrats Abroad.
- The section on corporate involvement cites one “cnet” article (note [2]) and provides a dead link for footnote [3]. The “cnet” article is a poor source, as it criticizes an internet voting experiment overseas for not consulting US domestic internet voting ‘experts.’ The article also makes accusations about an Australian company, but the source is yet another dead link. That doesn’t stop the authors from insinuating that some US politician was behind the organization, again, without any evidence whatsoever. Finally, the article opines that it is “unacceptable to force citizens to trust their votes to a system that has not been demonstrated to be trustworthy,” without at all acknowledging that the entire experiment was 100% voluntary.
- I do not find this to be a credible source on this subject.
- Under partial results reporting, there are two paragraphs unrelated to this article. The first refers to individual (US) state laws related to releasing election results which would obviously not apply to those outside of that state. The following paragraph refers to Canadian law governing Canadian elections, and clearly does not belong in this section. DOR (HK) (talk) 04:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
