To add to this article: 1) Deb Haaland's Laguna Pueblo name means "crushed turquoise" in the Keres language, and 2) she is a member of the Turquoise Clan of the Laguna Pueblo. Haaland mentioned both of these things in her address to the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
