Capitals?

[edit]

I think CREEPY is always capitalised. Anyone got an opinion on that?

As far as I can determine, it seems the title CREEPY, like MAD was always in upper case. If that's the case, then both presumably both the name in the article and the name of the article should be the same. Do you agree, or am I wrong?--Alicejenny 07:10, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings to a fellow parent of 2 kids!
That's a good question. I've only been capitalizing Mad since that's the way it seems to have been established on Wikipedia for some time now and it didn't seem worth fighting, even I've never seen in that way anywhere else.
As for Creepy, I've only seen it upper- and lowercase in all references sources, including the definitive Warren Publishing history at http://enjolrasworld.com/Richard%20Arndt/The%20Warren%20Magazines.htm , in the big 2003 Warren feature story in The Comics Journal (http://www.tcj.com/253/n_warren.html), one of the leading comics magazines, and elsewhere. Since the logos themselves change -- it was "The Fantastic Four" upper and lower until it became "THE FANTASTIC FOUR" for a while in the '70s, for example -- I tend to go with the style of the majority of reference sources unless, say, the publisher were quoted as saying it were an acronym or something like that. The analogy to this might be the producer of the TV show "thirtysomething" or the poet "e.e. cummings," who both made a specific point that their title/name should be lowercased, and that's how most reference sources list them.
Was this a help? Let me know! Thanks! -- Tenebrae 07:29, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Sound fair enough to me. I agree better to stick with the lower case. --Alicejenny 07:36, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

History??

[edit]

"Russ Jones, the founding editor of Creepy in 1964, detailed the magazine's origins and his lengthy negotiations with Warren in the memoir "Creepy & Eerie" at his website."

Wikipedia articles would all be pretty short if all you had to do was link to somewhere else to provide information.DailyRich 18:59, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major Overhaul

[edit]

I've done a major overhaul of this article to include a lot more information on Creepy's history and contributors. Much of this information is based on my own personal experience and the book "The Warren Companion". Just a start, I hope to fix this up even further and do the same with Eerie and Vampirella. Dark Horse / New Comic Company

[edit]

At the San Diego Comic Con this year, Dark Horse was distributing a "Creepy Special #1" from "New Comic Company" and copyright 2007. Is Creepy coming back? Brian 13:34 01 October 2007 (BFG)Brian —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.167.52.115 (talk) 20:34, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is. They are starting out with online comics via Myspace Dark Horse Presents (MDHP). Once enough stories have been created they will take these web comics and print them into issue #1. I found this information here: Creepy is back with all new reasons to be afraid of the dark... 7/24/08

It looks like they have published online a precursor story on MHDP in 10/2008 & I know this months MDHP has a Creepy Story going by the name "Om Nom Nom". Switchbladesista (talk) 00:45, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
