I could be wrong, but wasn't this guy the original "kissing bandit"? 65.5.240.250 06:54, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Swan Inn

[edit]

"He is reputed to have stopped for his last drink at the Swan Inn on the Bayswater Road, London, on the way to Tyburn, now commemorated at the pub by a plaque." This needs verification as it would help to have an account of the plaque.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 14:25, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How was his name spelled?

[edit]

At present, this article uses four different spellings of the subject's surname: Duval (the title of the article), Du Val (in the sidebox), Du Vall (at the beginning of the article), and Duvall (in the Early Life section). These are varied throughout the body of the article. Which one is the correct spelling, or at least the standard spelling? If correctness cannot be guaranteed, at least consistency would be an improvement. --John.D.Ward (talk) 00:08, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've come here to make exactly the same point. I've actually detected five (5) different spellings: Duval, Duvall, Du Val, Du Vall, and De Vall. This needs fixing. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 07:47, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Duke of Richmond

[edit]

I am changing the wikilinking of the Duke of Richmond in this article from the 2nd to the 3rd Duke who was also 6th Duke of Lennox in the Scots peerage. The second Duke died aged only 11 in Paris having not apparently set foot in England, whereas the third Duke (cousin of the previous one) was more adult and did return to England. I also question the statement "possibly a relative" and would be loth to put that in unless I had evidence there were Duvall/Du Valls recordedly linked with the Stewart Lennoxes.Cloptonson (talk) 12:37, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
