[edit]The end of the sentence beginning "Lake El'gygytgyn, an important.." is cut off by the picture. I'm not sure why the text doesn't wrap around. --Fang Aili 14:19, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
- I moved the flag down, which fixed it (I'm not sure why it fixed it though!). Mark1 14:22, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Isn't Kamchatka Krai the eastern most part of Russia? Also, how can Chukotka be the only part of Russia in the Western Hemisphere when Kamchatka Krai is further to the east?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ask123 (talk • contribs)
- No, Kamchatka Krai is not the easternmost part of Russia, Chukotka is. Just take a look at the map of the area in any atlas that shows the meridians.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 21:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

- Not true. You can see an island that is claimed by Russia from the tip of an island in the Alaskan bay region, is all. ResMar 17:27, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Propaganda?
[edit]"From 2001 to 2008, Roman Abramovich was the Governor of Chukotka. He invested billions of rubles, including his own money, into the Chukotka economy by developing its infrastructure, schools, and housing. This has helped to double the GDP of the region and to more than triple the income of its residents. In 2004, Abramovich tried to resign from this position but was reappointed governor for another term by Vladimir Putin."
...sounds like PR from the Governors office. Can anyone verify? -- stewacide (talk)

– Russians officially call it: "Chukotka" and not: "Chukotka Autonomous Okrug." 2600:1700:6180:6290:28B0:221A:EFC0:6E5B (talk) 00:25, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Weak oppose: title is consistent with other okrugs and other subdivisions of Russia. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 13:27, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose: Chukotka would refer to the informal region, just like how "Kamchatka" by itself only refers to the Kamchatka Peninsula. Just like with Kamchatka, "Chukotka" by itself means the informal region that consists of the Chukchi Peninsula and some land stretching into the mainland.
