[edit]The article doesn't have nearly enough of them for GA at present - hogback for example, and for such a small subject much more use should be made of Laing's extended discussion. Just saying there are similarities doesn't help the reader much if you don't say what they are. Johnbod (talk) 01:31, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks... I'll make some improvements over the next few days.Catfish Jim and the soapdish (talk) 11:00, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- Belated comments: For GA the lead I think needs to be longer, and more context on Scottish crosses might be needed. Otherwise it looked fine on a quick read-through. Johnbod (talk) 01:28, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Hold for now... I now have a copy of the Registrum de Panmure which has Maule's original description of the cross... it seems Alexander Gordon was 'paraphrasing' fairly heavily and I'll have to rewrite that section.Catfish Jim and the soapdish (talk) 20:47, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

The Allen & Anderson ref needs a page numberKindly spell out abbreviations such as HMSO in the refs, not everyone is going to know it means "Her/His Majesties Stationary Office".Likewise, need a page number for the Walker and Maule refsWhat is the Commissary Maule? Do we have an article on this?Link for Downie Hills?- Just those few things above, and it's good to go. I took the liberty of copyediting as I reviewed.
- I've put the article on hold for seven days to allow folks to address the issues I've brought up. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, or here with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. Ealdgyth - Talk 14:53, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've added "Her Majesty's Stationary Office" in parenthesis after HMSO, as HMSO is the more usual form. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 09:05, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Commissary Maule was Robert Maule, a member of the Maule family who held the barony of Panmure. He was Commissary of St Andrews. He is usually refered to in the older literature as Commissary Maule rather than Robert Maule, but this appears to have originated in the Registrum de Panmure as a means to differentiate him from the many other Robert Maules mentioned in it. For the purposes of this article, it is sufficient to state that he was an antiquarian. There will be an article on him eventually, it's on my to-do list. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 09:05, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've created a stub article for Downie Hills. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 10:07, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Still need a page number for the Walker ref... otherwise looks good. Ealdgyth - Talk 15:18, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Okay... I'm about 6000 km from my copy of that book... give me until Sunday Catfish Jim & the soapdish 19:04, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- No worries at all. Ealdgyth - Talk 19:11, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
