I removed the section on Samurai, Japan's warrior nobility. The contribution does not reflect the citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aero13792468 (talkcontribs) 18:35, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Issue absence secondary sources

[edit]

Please improve this article by adding secondary sources. Currently, the entire article is based on quotes from the Tipitaka and Buddhist teachers, which usually are open to interpretation. Add scholarly (or news articles) on the subject.--S Khemadhammo (talk) 14:41, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contributions to Add to Buddhism and Euthanasia

[edit]

Hello all! I am enrolled in a course titled "Death and Dying" at the University of Miami and a part of the course is assisting Wikipedia with making additions to an article I felt was interesting to me. With that, I would like to make the following additions:

  • Describe in detail how Buddhism views euthanasia as a whole
  • Whether or not Buddhism views euthanasia as acceptable and why
  • How Buddhism defines death
  • Should patients in a vegetative state be euthanized under Buddhist beliefs
  • Options for Buddhists in place of euthanasia
  • "Compassion" according to Buddhism
  • How Buddhist texts explain euthanasia
  • Kamma/karma and how it is affected by euthanasia

Euthanasia of animals

[edit]

The article as it stands is entirely about the euthanasia of humans. A section on the euthanasia of animals, especially pets, would be suitable here I think. 50.48.197.22 (talk) 22:12, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
