Well, the AFD is closed with a consensus to redirect here, so I would suggest that the content of the original article be trimmed to fit into one section of this article. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:51, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean, closed? Is 17 hours really the norm for holding a discussion and acting, even when the first responder is against it? Actually, count me as opposed to the merge as well, for the same reasons as Hjal. --Ken Gallager (talk) 13:50, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conversion of measurements, feet to meters, is not working right

Two measurements of mountain heights use the convert code to show the meter conversion of the heights given in feet. I don't know why, but it isn't working. The first conversion says 582 feet = 177 meters. (This is independently verified outside Wikipedia.) The second conversion says 580 feet (a shorter height than the first) = 180 meters (a taller height than the first). I don't know why this would happen, and raise the issue here for people who might be able to track down the source of error. Jtellerelsberg (talk) 15:42, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out. Turns out that the "convert" tool automatically guesses the amount of precision needed when converting. You would think it would convert each number to the nearest whole digit, but actually it converted the 580 feet (ending in zero) to another number ending in 0. I fixed the parameters so each conversion would go to the closest whole number. Ken Gallager (talk) 13:26, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
