Retirement date

[edit]

Let’s avoid a trip to the 3RR Noticeboard, huh?
Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor retiring from the Pakistan Army on 30th December 2024, after serving 40 years for Pakistan Army.
Okay, two grammar trainwrecks there. ‘Ghafoor retiring’ and ‘years for Pakistan’. Maybe the If poor English prevents an editor from writing comprehensible text directly in articles, they can instead post an edit request on the article talk page. clause of WP:CIR applies here. Could use that answered, if anyone’s stumbled over this.
The other problem? The existing mention of September 2024 is backed by a source. The change to December 2024 is not. I can’t, for the life of me, recall which policy says it, but the onus is on the changer to provide proof / RS.
Thoughts, anyone? Oh, and could someone give CreamRoll7 a welcome template, and explanation? I’m too involved in a dispute with them, at this point. MM (Give me info.) (Victories) 14:10, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, but which source claims Gen. Ghafoor was set to retire in Sept. 2024? I couldn't find a single one, so I’ve reverted that change. He's still serving as president of the NDU and unless we get a proper source confirming his retirement, let's avoid adding any misleading info. Thank you.
