Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico acquisition

[edit]

Very recently, América Móvil aquired Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico. This is almost finalized; still needs confirmation by the FCC. As soon as more information about this is uncovered, I might help by adding it here. Ramcosca 18:27, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need of the insertion of America Movil's subsidiaries into AM's wikipage

[edit]

I dont think it is completely necesary because otherwise AT&T Mobility shouldn't have a wikipage and be merged into AT&T, Inc.'s wikipage, equally for Verizon. Just a thought... You tell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonajosh (talkcontribs) 05:16, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Claro should have its own namespace. --Nadir D Steinmetz — Preceding unsigned comment added by Idontknow610 (talkcontribs) 21:49, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merging America Móvil and Telcel

[edit]

Who proposed this? Even if Telcel is a "subsidiary" of América Móvil, the parent company is practically unknown to the consumer market, while the Telcel brand is much better known. Anyway, the company itself is "Radiomóvil Dipsa", so there is a differentiation between America Movil and the subsidiary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.240.230.226 (talk) 19:38, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

América Móvil is a Holding Company not a Mobile Network Operator

[edit]

While it might be unimportant within colloquial language to distinguish between a holding company and its subsidiaries and their different functions it seems necessary to be exact in the wording when legal and business law is concerned. In this sense América Móvil is not a Mobil Network Operator but a holding company, i.e. a company holding shares of other companies holding shares of mobile telcos in Latin America. I changed the wording of the article accordingly. Whatisrightwhatiswrong (talk) 14:32, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

major cleanup

[edit]

I did a major cleanup to the article- here's the diff. Letting you know because I deleted quite a bit of content and tried to refactor the rest of it. tedder (talk) 08:07, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Use of the word Dental

[edit]

If you look up 'dental' in most dictionaries, the definition will usually be "of or pertaining to the teeth". (dental floss, dental hygiene, etc.) If there is a usage of the word Dental that is related to wireless telecommunications services, it would appear to be colloquial or relatively obscure. I didn't edit the article to remove references to the term. However, its usage should probably be more limited and used in conjunction with a more internationally recognized standard or at least linked to a more formal definition so as not to confuse readers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.236.77 (talk) 11:02, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Israel Service

[edit]

From everything I can find it does not appear as though the company offers service in Israel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.12.208.177 (talk) 21:48, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
