30th country?

[edit]

The listed source says this referendum makes Switzerland the 30th country in the world to have SSM, but our own list at Legal status of same-sex marriage makes it the 29th. I presume the source includes Mexico, but it is not stated. I have come across this problem on other articles, where a source lists a different total for something due to either error or counting differently to how we have on WP does by consensus. Where does the balance fall here between original research and WP consensus? Jdcooper (talk) 00:53, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if this is related, but the word "introduce" in that sentence seems rather vague to me.. Prcc27 (talk) 00:16, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Which sentence, sorry?

Seem indeed to be the 29th. Although it won't be until 1 July 2022, so if another country legalise it before that deadline, it may be pushed down the list.--Aréat (talk) 00:20, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, that's true. I'm expecting at least Andorra and Chile before then. But I suppose we can cross that bridge when we come to it. It seems like the journalists are the ones at fault/using a crystal ball. Jdcooper (talk) 08:42, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
