30 December comment

[edit]

There’s a passage that reads, “Other sources suggest that roughly three-fourths of gay men have had anal sex at one time or another, with an equal percentage participating as tops and bottoms.”

“At one time or another” should, ideally, be deleted. Otherwise it should be replaced with “at least once”. It’s both too wordy and too casual as written.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:F92:9010:4118:5FB7:F8DB:958D (talkcontribs)

'male' penis

[edit]

there is an edit war going on about whether "the penis" should be described as "male." I assume this is a debate about trans people. My view is the word 'male' is unnecessary in this sentence, whichever side of the trans debate you're on. For biological essentialists a penis can only belong to a male so the word is redundant; for people who believe trans women are women, the word male is wrong because some women may have penises. @Atrapalhado: That same editor is making similar edits at Teabagging [1] and Fellatio [2] so it seems likely it is political and not for clarification. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 23:54, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
