Nicole Frances Midwin (born June 5, 1978)[1] is an American fashion model and professional beach volleyball player.

Early life and education

Of Italian descent,[1] Midwin is from the San Francisco Bay Area and was educated at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, where she played on the women's volleyball team;[2] in 2003, she was inducted into the Archbishop Mitty Hall of Fame.[3] In 2010, she graduated from West Valley College.[citation needed]

Volleyball career

Midwin played volleyball at California State University, Northridge[2] and in 2000 as a senior for San Jose State University.[4] In 2003, she joined the Association of Volleyball Professionals as a beach volleyball player.[1][5]

Modeling

Midwin was discovered by fashion designer Peter Nygård while playing beach volleyball in Marina Del Rey and began modeling for Nygård International in 2003. She subsequently modeled for Dillard's and Extreme Gym.[citation needed] She has also modeled for Playboy, starting with a Women of the AVP feature on Playboy Plus in 2004.[6][7]
