Newton Cinema is a film production company founded in 2020 by Anto Chittilappilly and Sanita Chittilappilly.[1] It has offices in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Kochi. Newton Cinema has produced two feature films- Family and Paradise and two short films- Lalanna's Song and KISS since its inception.
Lalanna's Song, a short feature directed by Megha Ramaswamy was premiered in IFFLA 2022 and was awarded Honorable Mention at the Festival. KISS[2][3] is a Sci-fic drama by Varun Grover and was premiered in NYIFF 2022
Family, directed by Don Palathara and starring Vinay Forrt, Divya Prabha, Mathew Thomas ,Nilja Baby and Abhija Sivakala, was premiered[4] in 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam 2023 and has enjoyed sold-out screenings in many other film festivals.[5][6][7] Family was theatrically released in February 2024.[8] Paradise, directed by Prasanna Vithanage and starring Roshan Mathew, Darshana Rajendran, Shyam Fernando and Mahendra Perera, won the Kim Jiseok award at 28th Busan International Film Festival , Prix Du Jury Lyceen at 30th Vesoul International Festival of Asian Cinema and Audience Jury Award[9] at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival.It also bagged 4 nominations[10] at the 17th Asian Film Awards Academy 2024 and 3 nominations[11] at the New York Indian Film Festival 2024. Paradise is presented by Madras Talkies.[12]
Both Family and Paradise were screened at the 28th International Film Festival of Kerala in December 2023 and are in the TOP-10 INDIAN FILMS curated by FIPRESCI India Grand Prix 2023.[1]
