Impact Guru is a donation based crowdfunding platform for NGOs, social enterprises, startups and individuals.[1][2][3][4][5] It has raised ₹150 crore (US$18 million) for various NGOs and social enterprises in more than 15 countries.[6]
Impact Guru was incubated at Harvard Innovation Lab’s Venture Initiation Program in 2014[7][8] and PACT at Impact Hub in Singapore in 2015.[9][10] Impact Guru was founded by Piyush Jain[11] and Khushboo Jain.[12][13] It was launched by Maneka Gandhi in September 2015.[14]
Funding
[edit]In April 2015, Impact Guru raised ₹3.3 crore (US$400,000)[15] seed money from RB Investments, a Singapore-based venture capital firm, and Fundnel, a private investment platform based in Southeast Asia.[12][8][16]
Partnerships
[edit]In April 2016, Impact Guru partnered with Singaporean investment platform Fundnel to gather investment capital from the Indian diaspora in Southeast Asia.[16]
In September 2016, Impact Guru partnered with United Nations entity named UN Women to run Project Inspire, an initiative by Singapore Committee for UN Women, in partnership with Bain & Company and MasterCard,[17] to support social entrepreneurs working towards women's empowerment.[8]
In October 2016, Impact Guru partnered with US and UK based crowdfunding platform, GlobalGiving.[18][19][20]
