[edit]At 1:37 AM on a Sunday, October 21, 2023, a pipe bomb was exploded outside the Cypriot Israeli embassy in the Cyprus capital, Nicosia around 30 meters (98 and a half feet) away from the embassy building.[3] The explosion didn't kill or injure anyone and only slightly damaged the building, during the investigation on the explosive Cypriot police stated that the pipe bomb was made out of materials used in making fireworks.[4]
After the explosion, Cypriot police arrested 4 Syrian men aged 17–21 who were found in the area suspected of the bombing.[5] 2 of them were found walking near the bomb site while the others were in a car parked nearby, they were found with a knife and a hammer.[6] The men were detained for 6 days who were being faced on the charges of destruction of a building with explosives, possession and use of explosives and possession of a knife.[7]
