Alexandra Burke, a British pop and R&B singer, has released one studio album, five singles and seven music videos on recording label Sony BMG and its subsidiary Syco. Burke has also been featured on two charity singles, "Hero" and "Everybody Hurts"
Burke rose to prominence in the United Kingdom after being a contestant on The X Factor during its fifth series, and ultimately won the show on 13 December 2008. The winning single, "Hallelujah", made her the highest selling female of the decade in the UK after selling over 1.2 million in the UK alone, and the highest placed X Factor contestant on the list. Her second single, "Bad Boys", featuring US rapper Flo Rida became her second number-one single on the UK Singles Chart. Burke also featured on the X-Factor finalist charity record, a cover of Mariah Carey's "Hero", which was another UK number one. "Bad Boys" also found limited chart success in Europe. Her debut album, Overcome, was released in October 2009 and went straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart. "Broken Heels" was released as the third single and peaked at number eight in the UK and number five in Ireland. The fourth single, "All Night Long", which features Pitbull was released in May 2010 and after slowly climbing the charts, managed to reach number four in the UK and number one in Ireland, marking Burke's third solo number-one single in that country.
