The Indian Elephant Elephas maximus indicus is a subspecies of the Asian Elephant primarily found in India. The subspecies can also be found in relatively small numbers in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Borneo, Cambodia, China, Laos, mainland of Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Sumatra, and Vietnam.
Habitat
Indian elephants usually use scrub forested areas, although their habitat may vary. They don't usually stay in one place for more than a few days. They sometimes stay in jungles, but only if there's a meadow or open space with grass that can be found. They are 5-10 metres long.
