==Scope and Goals==
The current focus of the Ethics task force is to create a representative presence of philosophy of ethics on Wikipedia. Many splinter articles on this subject are poorly written and factually inaccurate, and misrepresent some of the most important works in the history of philosophy. Since works in moral philosophy are some of the most dense and difficult to understand, but also perhaps the most important to human society, a coordinated effort to expand and improve Wikipedia's articles on this subject is needed.

Since we are a derivative of WikiProject Philosophy, our goals are very similar and are as follows:

# To serve as a '''nexus and discussion area''' for contributors with knowledge in philosophy of ethics.
# To '''identify''' those areas of ethics which lack sufficient coverage on Wikipedia
# To '''improve''' those articles which need help.
# To '''create a general map''' of the ethics articles and subjects on Wikipedia and link the articles together accordingly.

Ethics task force
a task force for Wikipedia's
Ethics articles.
Article · Category · Portal · Outline · Index

Welcome to the Ethics Task Force, a task force of WikiProject Philosophy. The task force is a group of pages in the "Wikipedia" article namespace which are devoted to the management of a specific topic or family of topics within Wikipedia; and, simultaneously, a group of editors who use those pages to collaborate on encyclopedic work. It is not a place to write encyclopedia articles directly, but a resource to help coordinate and organize the writing and editing of those articles. This group focuses on articles in the field of Ethics.

There are a few things you can do right now to get started helping the task force and the project.

  • Add {{User WP Ethics}} to your user page. It will automatically add you to Category:Ethics task force participants. You may also choose to place the Ethics navigation banner on your user page as well by adding {{Ethics/Nav}}.

Scope and Goals

The current focus of the Ethics task force is to create a representative presence of philosophy of ethics on Wikipedia. Many splinter articles on this subject are poorly written and factually inaccurate, and misrepresent some of the most important works in the history of philosophy. Since works in moral philosophy are some of the most dense and difficult to understand, but also perhaps the most important to human society, a coordinated effort to expand and improve Wikipedia's articles on this subject is needed.

Portal Pointer

{{portal|Ethics}} adds a box Ethics or Moral Philosophy which leads to the ethics portal. It looks like this:

{{portal|Ethics}}

It should appear at the bottom of each ethics article, immediately before the categories list.

Project page tag

Putting {{philosophy|ethics=yes}} at the top of a page will add this notice to it:

WikiProject iconPhilosophy: Ethics Unassessed
WikiProject iconThis article is within the scope of WikiProject Philosophy, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of content related to philosophy on Wikipedia. If you would like to support the project, please visit the project page, where you can get more details on how you can help, and where you can join the general discussion about philosophy content on Wikipedia.
???This article has not yet received a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.

Ethics

This message should be placed at the top of the talk pages of all ethics articles, especially:

  • articles that members of the WikiProject are actively trying to improve.
  • articles about major ethics topics.
  • articles that need special attention.

The template {{User WP Ethics}} will add the following userbox to your user page, and add you to the Category:Ethics task force participants and Category:WikiProject Philosophy participants

This user is a participant in the
Ethics task force.
