From Slavic Vanna, from Ivana (Ѝвана) and Ivanna (Ива́нна), ultimately from Koine Greek Ἰωάννα (Iōánna), from Hebrew יוֹחָנָה (Yôḥānāh, literally God is gracious), the feminized form of יְהוֹחָנָן (Yəhōḥānān) which produced John and its many doublets.
