I would like to add an unverified suggestion. Couldn't Etymology 1 also be:

"μά (B), Thess. for δέ, IG9(2).258.11 (Cierium, ii B.C.), 461 A9 (Crannon, ii B.C.); also found at beginning of sentence in POxy. 1216.10 (ii/iii A.D.)." (LSJ)?
