Ip blocked

edit

I've never used wiki to create an edit but my IP is blocked how do I fix this? 212.250.119.12 (talk) 17:39, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey there. Looks like this IP is being detected as a VPN. Here's the exact block message. {{blocked p2p proxy|ip=212.250.119.12|isp=NORTHUMBERLAND TYNE WEAR NHS}} <!-- API-confirmed P2P VPN -->. Looks like account creation is blocked too. Anyway, if you can make your edit with your VPN off or on a different IP, that's probably the way forward here. –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:46, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

"Notice: You do not have the necessary permissions to view appeals on any queues."

edit

I just logged into UTRS for the first time in quite a while. It looks different than I remember, and I got the above notice at the top of the page. I looked in my account settings and found the following entry dated 2023-12-09: Action: modified user - enwiki: -admin, -checkuser, -oversight, -user, Reason: automatic permission check. It is true that I lost some permisssions around that time, but I'm certainly still an admin. If I'm reading this right UTRS thinks I am not. Perhaps the rename is confusing it somehow? Pinging all tool admins, if I'm reading this right the last permisssion check says I don't even exist. AmandaNP — Deepfriedokra — JJMC89 — TParis — 5 albert square: Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 17:38, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Arg. I don't have that level of access. AmandaNP does for sure, though. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:08, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Just Step Sideways: That log is dated 2023, you just needed to self reload permissions because the system detected your username change and never reloaded them. That should be part of the rename process though, I get it, we just haven't had very many admins rename, so the QA is low on that. I have reloaded them, and your flags are present :) -- Amanda (she/her) 18:59, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks You! The interface for permisssions was not something I had ever even looked at before so I wasn't real sure what I should do. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 00:09, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Blocked on Wikidata

edit

Am writing to request the administrative of Wikidata to unblock my Wikidata account, following the recent blocking of my Wikidata account last year ago.

As a newcomer editor of Wikidata significantly contribute to me in vandalizing the rules and regulations of Wikidata, after participating and engaging in so many Wikidata training both online and physically has shaved my knowledge on how to create a single lexame knowing the rules and regulations of Wikidata  Among others. I will be very glad if the administration of Wikidata will give me a second chance to continue editing Wikidata and contribute immensely to the sum of free knowledge through Wikidata as a Wikimedia sister project. @Adamu ab. Hey there. This is the English Wikipedia. You'll need to follow whatever the unblock procedure on Wikidata is. Your Wikidata talk page at wikidata:User talk:Adamu ab seems to have a lot of activity. That might be a good place to ask. –Novem Linguae (talk) 21:32, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Can't unblock a user longer than 50 characters.

edit

UTRS gets an error when you enter a username longer than 50 charcters even though usernames can be longer than 50 characters. Is this a bug or is this intentional? 1.129.110.121 (talk) 00:55, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm curious as to the source of your interest in this topic. Are you a user with a name longer than 50 characters? 331dot (talk) 08:26, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
