  • Come to a consensus on a standard railroad map style
  • Identify articles about railroad companies and routes that lack maps (use the Mapneeded parameter of {{WikiProject Trains}})
  • Identify articles that need updated maps or maps more specific to a previous time period (use Mapneeded and Mapdetails to describe the map updates that are required)
  • Identify and categorize existing historical railroad maps
