Adding a new AfD discussion

Angelos Bountalis

Although the article is incredibly detailed, there are no sources at all as the one source used is just a link to a website with no apparent mention of Bountalis. I have searched in Greek but can't find anything about him. No sign of WP:GNG and WP:SPORTBASIC despite apparently having a very eventful amateur career. Keep. I don't know why we can't maintain this list. It's not a problem that multiple lists can exist in parallel. Yet, this list is very complete and include some importants matchs, although there are not considered at pro level. Maybe, some of players of this list are less reliable (Carmona, Bastock for example) but globally the list is reliable. Kind regards (excuse my english, I'm french)

Delete. There was a consensus reached on the original article to not include reserve team and youth team games, this was to align with the vast majority of sources which do not include such games. Creating a second list ignores the consensus which had been reached and creates the possibility of multiple parallel versions based on differing subjective interpretations. Football (unlike cricket and most US based sports) does not have a central statistical record which is why consensus and consistency is so important ColchesterSid (talk) 22:13, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Charis Fourkiotis

His 46 minutes of professional football is, at best, a weak presumption of notability. My searches didn't yield any WP:SPORTBASIC coverage. Elassona News has an announcement about him which is only 2 sentences long. Larissa Net mentions him once. AELOle has a transfer announcement which is copied from his club's website. Timoleon Patronis

Played 2 league matches and 1 cup match before disappearing from professional football. This stats stub gives no indication of passing WP:SPORTBASIC either. Sportsup contains a trivial mention of him in a list of players transferred out. Sigma Live and a few other sources contain a mention of a player of the same name who was the assistant manager of Panachaiki from 1971 to 1978 so clearly a different person (but possibly a relative) given the connection to the same club. Comment - it'll be interesting to see if anyone has access to Portuguese newspapers in the 1920s as I'd be curious to see if this guy had WP:SIGCOV. Of course, if none can be found, I'm happy with deletion but I can't think of a time when we've deleted an international footballer for such a successful footballing country. Zemun Stadium

Non-notable soccer stadium that fails both WP:GNG and WP:NARENA, which holds that athletic stadia are neither presumptively notable nor inherit the notability of any teams that play there. Significant coverage has not been demonstrated to exist, the article has been inadequately sourced for over fifteen years now (and was notability tagged for 12 years), its only current source is primary. Previous AfD went keep on the basis of several "It's notable," "It's big," and "Important games have been played there," among other illegitimate reasons. Delete zero notability established. Sole source is from the home club, their website also doesn't appear to exist anymore. Looking at the previous AfD (which you also nominated), all of the keep arguments completely violated WP:INHERIT and WP:NARENA (which some of them even used as a keep argument), and the closing admin looks to have simply done a vote count.
