Source on a medical journal
editI believe we spoke in the IRC help channel about sources for articles on medical journals, and you mentioned the Scottish Medical Journal as an example of a poorly-sourced article. You're right, and I did some digging; while many Google Books hits for "Scottish Medical Journal" were unhelpful because they were merely citing works published in that journal, this is an impeccable source about the Edinburgh Medical Journal, one of the two that amalgamated into the Scottish Medical Journal. I'll summarize that in the Wikipedia article. I also found another source that, while saying little about the SMJ, used articles published there for linguistic studies, along with ones from NEJM - something that likely wouldn't be done with some minor third-rate journal. I expect numerous further similar sources could be found with appropriate keywords to reduce false positives. Huon (talk) 21:42, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Journal of paramedic practice
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Journal of paramedic practice, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. COI
editThank you for declaring your conflict of interest. That doesn't mean you can write what you like, you must follow the guidance below.
- you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the journal, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
- you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
- there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:12, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

editOrphaned non-free image File:Journal of paramedic practice cover.gif
editThanks for uploading File:Journal of paramedic practice cover.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:23, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
The article Highland PICT Team has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not enough in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources to pass WP:GNG, possible to redirect to hospital article, and merge information backed up by reliable sourcing there, but not sure.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 18:22, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

editHello. Your recent edit to Philip Morant School and College appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. And please read WP:MINOR Meters (talk) 08:09, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

TheMouseMen
editHello, I was wondering if you are connected in any way to the editor TheMouseMen? As I wrote on their user talk page, you have both edited pages like BASICS Scotland, the various Journal of Paramedic Practice drafts, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dylan Mulvaney, according to the Interaction Timeline tool. To be clear I'm not accusing you of doing anything wrong - I'm just curious since you have both edited in that specific topic area and then were involved with the recent AfD. Thanks! Bridget (talk) 18:52, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi Bridget, I think they’re another medic in scotland, maybe a rig nurse. Yeah I saw they tried to create the Journal page again, I tried a few years ago and it got knocked back, nice of them to try again. Yeah - I saw the Dylan page and couldn’t work out what was actually going on, as in what they were notable for, so I asked in an attempt to understand. I gather TikTok is the “in thing” and that’s why they’re famous, all a bit alien to me. Looks like the decision is that she’s notable? Dunno how a consensus is reached. Links to draft articles
editPlease do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to BASICS Scotland. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 21:01, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
