Thank you for your message on my talkpage. Please find some information above about how to edit. I'm not that surprised that there is no information on p. 135 about Shimano. Can you take a look on p. 153 and around and about? I wonder if the numbers got put in the wrong order. If it is there but on a different page, perhaps you could correct the page number; if it is nowhere then the sentence should be deleted. In both cases, please be sure to explain your edit in the edit summary and/or on the talkpage of the article. As far as the blog is concerned, it is a blog associated with the Tricycle Buddhist Review, and thus may be a reliable source. I have asked for opinions here. Welcome to Wikipedia. --Slp1 (talk) 17:54, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Toni Packer photo
editHi, following up from your message, the best way of uploading photos is to go to Commons:Upload and follow the instructions there. Once uploaded on commons images can be shown in Wikipedia in the normal way (see Wikipedia:Picture tutorial) Points to note:
- You have to have an account on Commons, I believe this has already been created under the same name and password as your Wikipedia account (see SUL summary for you).
- Your photo is from a friend, you must be absolutely clear about the source when you upload. It may be easier to load the photo to Flickr first, change the licence there to 'Attribution Creative Commons'. This has the advantage of making the upload a lot easier, avoids questions about who your friend is and what the evidence of permission is and the photo gets verified automatically by a bot sometime after upload. If the photo does get challenged for evidence of permission you may need to follow the Commons:OTRS process and confidentially supply an email from your friend with a declaration of their release into the public domain; yes it's a drag but it may be worth reading through the information on the OTRS page for your information.
- To upload, the photo needs to be on your local hard-drive. Don't worry about cropping and editing, this can be done by others after it is uploaded.
- The photo may have information on the file in the form of EXIF image data added by the camera. This will be visible after upload so make sure you are happy that the make of camera, when it was taken etc. will be consistent with your upload information.
- The photo can be checked using TinEye after upload, so if it appears on websites which claim 'All right reserved' or similar then it may get deleted.
Good luck. Fæ (talk) 13:46, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! Gosh! this looks so complicated! At the moment I asked the author to upload the picture himself. If it is not done by him I will follow your instructions. I simply wanted to share the picture but it looks more complicated than I thought... Thanks! Spt51 (talk) 14:08, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

- Maybe you are right, but seeing what was done obviously by lack of thoughtfulness and yourself editing same page it again, it would be more constructive to reinstate what was damaged by reverting entire page. Don't you think so? Spt51 (talk) 17:38, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
== Reverting == {{Help}}
I have two questions concerning edits.
- How to revert article to earlier version, not the previous one but few edits before? I do not know how to do this. Should I click undue link on the version above the one I want to revert to? Could you please explain to me clearly how to do this? Is there a tool I could use to do this?
- Also, what is the three times revert rule? I am patrolling a BLP page where there is a lot of edit warring going on. Because, I do not know how to revert to earlier versions I have not done this yet, but I would like to. I want to make sure I do not transgress.Thank you! Spt51 (talk) 03:29, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hello. The answer to your questions an be found at these two pages respectively: WP:REVERT and WP:3RR. Reverting is easy. Open up a page's history, click on the date of the revision you want to revert to, click edit this page, enter an appropriate edit summary, click save page. Note that the three revert rule does not apply to obvious vandalism, copyright violations and certain other types of edits including, possibly relevant here, removal of libelous, biased, unsourced, or poorly sourced contentious material that violates the policy on biographies of living persons, but does apply to any type of content dispute.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:36, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:49, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you, for notifying me. I am going there right now.Spt51 (talk) 22:58, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

editI am sorry that you have been harassed by Kobutsu. I did not see the first offending edit for a week, unfortunately, but now he has been blocked for attempting to do it again. If this should ever happen again, there are various private official emails you can use off-wiki to get attention to such a problem. Here is the page to look at [1] for future reference. Or, if you enable email in your wp preferences you can send a private email for help to an administrator or editor you know or trust.
I hope that this potential invasion of your privacy is not the cause of you stopping editing WP. If it is, then it is too bad, because the harassment will have worked. I hope you will consider returning; the offending edits are gone so that nobody can see them anymore. --Slp1 (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Please note that User:Kobutsu has now been blocked indefinitely, and the offending edits suppressed. Wikipedia takes editor anonymity very seriously, and will ensure that contributors concerns are addressed as soon as notified. LessHeard vanU (talk) 10:32, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the message. I did not see any messages from Kobutsu here on my page not looking at it for a while. I wonder what it was, but if it is gone maybe is better. He did attacked me on the Discussion page of Shimano, but this he did in the past too to others who edited this page. Thank you for keeping eye on character like this. Of course I will do more work in Wiki now. I was away on work related trip and did not have access to my own computer for a while, but also wanted some distance from all the fighting.Spt51 (talk) 20:40, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Merzel on Timeline
editYo can remove the resignation/scandals if you want - I won't fight for it. But his page has been mostly blanked by some crazed admin, so removing since it is there isn't the reason anymore.Tao2911 (talk) 21:10, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- No, I'm not a crazed admin (that is, I'm not an admin), but I did remove the BLP violations. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 21:37, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- I am not involved in Merzel page, so I do not know what is going on there, sorry.Spt51 (talk) 15:08, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Your ongoing bias
editWhy don't you show something against the grain, and go add the bit about "lasting allegations aginst Shimano/" to the Shimano page. Until you do, I'll keep removing it from the Aitken page.Tao2911 (talk) 03:46, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- After your constant attacks against me on the discussion page there, as many other editors I removed myself from discussing this issue. Sorry, but with the way you are still communicating I will not engage with this. You will have to discuss matter with other who are willing. Allegations were removed not by me but by admins, as you know. So, please stop.Spt51 (talk) 15:11, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Please comment
editYou seem to be missing in action. Are you surrendering? I can't deal with all of this single handedly. If you are dropping out, then the article will be run by those you oppose and there won't be much one person will be able to do about it so if any of this is important to you you may wish to stay involved.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
