February 2012

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in What's Going On, makes articles harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Edit summaries

edit

Hello, when you make an edit to an article, it is helpful to other editors if you would fill in the edit summary box to explain the point of your edit. Victor Silvester is on my watchlist, and if you had put something like "minor tweaks to references" I need not have gone to the article to see what you had done to it. Thanks -- Alarics (talk) 06:29, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

James Berry

edit

Thanks for your work on James Berry. I have removed the piece about "He is regarded as one of the first black writers in Britain to gain wide recognition for his work." as it is repeating inaccurate information. I was shocked that the BL put out such a statement, but I feel it would only be relevant to include this material if the matter became the subject of further debate.Leutha (talk) 20:56, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cresset Press

edit

Hi, It's good to see this expanded! I created the stub while stub-sorting Cresset and following up various related bits and pieces, the way one does. Thanks. PamD 17:33, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Good work on the Ernest Ranglin article

edit

Cheers for tightening up the Ranglin article. I've changed one sentence about Millie's hit (Island Records didn't go worldwide until 1971 so changed sentence to reflect that). Also changed the Wrigglers album (tacitly understood that Ranglin was on guitar duties) - and don't want to give the album too much prominence. It is a hotel floor show.

Nice work on Halliday!

Thank you. Are you a linguist? A systemic function grammar person? If so, we could use your assistance. I'm only an amateur in both. Tony (talk) 07:00, 10 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
