  Hello, OceanicFeeling123. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 16:52, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Talk:GameStop_short_squeeze#Conspiracy_Theories

edit

Hi OceanicFeeling123, I'm relatively surprised about the proposed (and even implemented) addition to the GameStop short squeeze article. Would you mind having another look at Talk:GameStop_short_squeeze#Conspiracy_Theories? Thanks and best regards, ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:01, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi OceanicFeeling123, you are probably already aware of this, but I'd like to make sure that these notices have been added to your talk page (per WP:AWARE).

March 2021

  Hello, I'm Graywalls. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please see WP:CITESPAM, while you're adding a reasonably credible source, you work for the ADL, and you have been repeatedly adding ADL's perspectives into numerous articles directly, which is considered non-neutral advocacy for your own organization. Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

edit

  There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. Graywalls (talk) 22:17, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the above discussion board, but some editors have concerns about your insertion of Anti-Defamation League sources. It's generally very good if you join the above conversation, as it helps to explain your perspective. Thnaks. --- Possibly (talk) 00:04, 25 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Having direct input from the ADL (which, I remind everyone, we consider to be a reliable source) could do a lot to improve the encyclopedia, but WP:BPCA is the framework we have worked out for that to happen. --Guy Macon (talk) 22:01, 26 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia New York City

edit

Hello,

Since ADL is based in NYC, I figured I'd reach out with my Wikimedia New York City hat on. We're a non-profit which runs events and makes connections between Wikipedia and the people and institutions of New York. Whether about the possibility of a Wikipedian in Residence (something which came up on the noticeboard discussion) or just to talk about your possible future Wikipedia/Wikimedia activities, I know there are several of us who would be happy to have a conversation sometime. We typically err on the side of caution when it comes to conflict of interest issues, but can provide advice and explore other possible collaborations if that's something you'd be open to. And, of course, you're always welcome to join our various events (see WP:WMNYC). — Rhododendrites talk \\ 01:08, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
