Hi,

I was wondering if you could direct me to the paywalled sources you mentioned. I might be able to access them through one of my institutions but I can't check if I don't know what they are.

The one I was thinking of was Li, Jinying. "Unstable Pixels, Modular Selves: Digital Subjectivity in Chinese Independent Animation." The Routledge Companion to Asian Cinemas. Routledge 434-445.

It seems the others were a separate publication of the material in the copyright book I added to the article, and Liu, Deming. "Love and Hate: Money, Copyright, and Creativity for Fine Arts in China." Art Antiquity & L. 13 (2008): 133. Oblivy (talk) 00:56, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks. I went through the Zhu article and it was almost a complete overlap. I added the pinyin and characters. I also stripped out the unverified content info - I think it may be time to remove the needs-sources template, maybe will get around that soon or you can do if you think it's warranted. So, I haven't read the entire article yet, but the first paragraph includes The success of the series not only launched a global fad of animated stick figures populating YouTube, but also pointed to a new direction for a young generation of Chinese artists to take advantage of accessible digital tools. Considering this is an essay in a major academic publication crediting Xiao Xiao for launching a global fad and inspiring other artists, it does an excellent job for the establishment of notability.
