Celia SAwyer
Hi,
I dont understand why you don't deem this to be a reliable source? http://www.celiasawyer.com/charities/
For Celia and her charities?

- Hi firstly let me say I have no problem with the content as long as it has a reliable source. In this case using her own website goes against WP:SELFSOURCE. Are there any independent sources which can be used to verify her charitable works?--Egghead06 (talk) 16:51, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Eva Carneiro
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Eva Carneiro, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Farrend Rawson
Hola! I'm 146.200.214.37 who made an edit to the Farrend Rawson page. His place of birth is listed on his TransferMarkt.co.uk page, and I also keep a database of current Derby County player information myself. I noticed there is a lot of inaccurate information in many of the current DCFC player pages, and intended to correct them, but seeing as there seems to be a necessity to provide sources for even the most basic of information, it really is too much of a faff to bother with. Good luck with your future deletions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.90.182.9 (talk) 16:03, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Have you thought this through? Without a verifying reliable source we could all write any old tosh - not the best way forward!!! You may also like to know that TransferMarkt is NOT considered a reliable source. --Egghead06 (talk) 17:14, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
I suppose the Rotherham United official site isn't either. Goodbye. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.90.182.9 (talk) 17:39, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Would assume it was. Trust me, Wikepedia works better if we all work together and keep the toys in the pram.......--Egghead06 (talk) 17:42, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
I see you have edited it back in. Wouldn't it work better if instead of deleting it you just checked it, instead of deleting it, then putting it back in just so you can have your name on the up to date edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.90.182.9 (talk) 18:20, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oh go on I'll say you made it if it makes your day. As for me checking the original entry by you of his place of birth, the onus is on YOU as per WP:BURDEN. But then adding sources is a bit of a faff isn't it............--Egghead06 (talk) 18:25, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Judy Murray is the director of GETSET2PLAY LIMITED, because it has signed the original document submitted to HMRC compck.com/company-07581844-docs-593456 CompCk.com is a reliable source because it extracts the information from the official Gov UK website http://download.companieshouse.gov.uk/en_accountsdata.html and presents it in a readable way. Why did you add a draw to his statistics for an abandoned game? We had an extra game in there until just now. Thankfully an anonymous editor spotted the error. - NewTestLeper79 talk 20:45, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- perhaps you would like to check again. The stats were accurate when I last edited them. The Ip didn't change them and there now exactly as I left them!--Egghead06 (talk) 20:53, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- You added the abandoned 1-1 score as an official result before it was given, and then I came along and added it when it was official. - NewTestLeper79 talk 01:06, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- Incorrect. You moved his games to 34 then moved it back again four days later to 33 whereas I had left it at 33 as per Soccerbase which was updated after their last game to 33 as the game had ended as a draw. BTW it was never 1-1, it was 0-0 so a 33rd game after the game, a 33rd game on the 9th and still a 33rd game today! and ALWAYS a draw. Maybe you could explain why you moved his games to 34 without a supporting source?--Egghead06 (talk) 06:11, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
Lee Clark II
egghead Lee Clark has won 34 games as Birmingham City FC manager as game v Yeovil in league cup is down as a draw but Birmingham won on penalties
- Soccerbase says otherwise and I had the impression cup games were given as draws as that was the result AET regardless of penalties.--Egghead06 (talk) 07:12, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- I seem to recall Soccerbase wasn't classed as reliable several years ago. - NewTestLeper79 talk 14:43, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- Soccerbase forms the basis for the supporting references of many statistics tables on Wikipedia such as that for Steven Gerrard and many others and is accepted as reliable. The concept you are struggling with is, when is a win a draw? Answer;- on Wikipedia in a cup game when the result is decided on penalties. This is because the result is at the end of the game and penalties are deemed to be after the game.--Egghead06 (talk) 15:32, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- You're talking about a different issue to the one I was originally referring to yesterday. Bobstar's off on his own tangent. My issue was that you decided the Blackpool-Huddersfield game was a draw when it was abandoned. - NewTestLeper79 talk 17:51, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- I decided nothing. I gained my information from a reliable source, in this case Soccerbase, which recorded the game as a draw ( which it always has been). Perhaps you would like to provide a reliable source showing where it was recorded as anything other than a draw and why you decided it was Clark's 34 game? Reliable sources are the way forward !!!!--Egghead06 (talk) 04:29, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- By virtue of it being abandoned, the score doesn't count until decided otherwise by the Football League. See the BBC Sport table here after the game was abandoned. Can you stop trusting Soccerbase yet? - NewTestLeper79 talk 18:11, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- Then we agree to disagree. Soccerbase is reliable in this case as it has ALWAYS shown this 33rd game as a draw. It is also the given source for his managerial stats in the article!!! For the third time, why did you move his games to 34?--Egghead06 (talk) 19:42, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- Because someone incorrectly changed it to 33 after the game was abandoned. - NewTestLeper79 talk 19:53, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- That's incorrectly based on the reliable source that I gave above and that you didn't acknowledge. - NewTestLeper79 talk 20:01, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman
Dear Egghead06, in the article "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman" you undid an entry a couple of days ago. The sources you refer to in this Wikipedia article are right, but are misinterpreted here and that's why misleading for two reasons: 1. John O'Neill was a member of The Mike Sammes Singers, and in that context it is correct (as said in the sources) that Mike Sammes provided the whistling for "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman", but he didn't do it himself. That's what multiple other sources on the web say about this song including John O'Neill's daughter Katrina. 2. Jack Smith was not a real person; he was just a pseudonym. The real person behind Jack Smith was John O'Neill who - as said before here - was a member of The Mike Sammes Singers at the time. That means that neither the ficticious Jack Smith nor Mike Sammes were the whistlers of "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman". I see that as a long-time Wikipedia member you have contributed enormously to the site throughout the years. Surely many appreciate that. I certainly do. That's why I courteously suggest that you look at this particular entry one more time. I won't change it; it's better when you do it so that you are satisfied with the result. Thank you for your commitment and best wishes (Stillbusy (talk) 15:29, 22 May 2015 (UTC))
- Hello and welcome to the world of reliable sources. I remember the song but have no personal knowledge of who was doing the whistling. I always look for reliable sources. Do you have any for John O'Neill's contribution?--Egghead06 (talk) 15:38, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Love Is Life (Hot Chocolate)
Hi, I am an archivist/historian. This week I viewed an edition of the BBC Programme "EdandZed!" tx 31/10/70 (from the BBC archive), in which Hot Chocolate perform live Bet Yer Life I Do, Love Is Life and an unreleased track Money Don't Make A Man... line-up of the group is as I've stated. I also have the surviving edition of Top Of The Pops tx 15.10.70, with the group photograph. Mickey Most recorded the group playing "Bet Yer Life I Do" as a Herman's Hermits single as, prior to Love Is Life, the group were an unknown commercial quantity and HH proven hitmakers albeit about to split up. http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/e2f6680688734a688c56ab2ce8735541

- the key here is to show a reliable source which can be verified by any reader.--Egghead06 (talk) 15:11, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Hello again. These are not contentious points or disputed points - they are mattters of fact. The line-up of Hot Chocolate is a matter of FACT. The "reliable source" is in the archive of the BBC. The authorship & recording of 'Bet Yer Life I Do' are matters of fact. http://www.discogs.com/Hermans-Hermits-Bet-Yer-Life-I-Do/release/1661846 If you wish to consult with Errol Brown or producer Mickie Most, it is a bit late for that.
If you must play God on Wikipedia (whoever you are), at least establish the facts about information you are editing. Little wonder the internet is 90% drivel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.50.176.75 (talk) 20:54, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- They may well be facts but Wikipedia works with reliable sources which can be verified. Without them anyone could just write anything. If you have such sources for line-ups and the other information you are adding, please add them to the article. Without such this information will be removed. You may also like to know that Discogs is not a reliable source as it is user written.--Egghead06 (talk) 05:58, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
Discogs edit old record labels do they? Wow, didn't know that. I am aware "anyone could write anything", as I said the internet is 90% drivel. So, to recap: Bet Yet Life I Do record label, not a reliable source? Hot Chocolate group history on wiki, not a reliable source? You might also wish to Google "Mr Logic from Viz". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.50.176.75 (talk) 21:35, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello. Was wondering if you have a view on Mr Barrett's date of death. WHUFC reported his death on 21 October last year, but the report didn't say when he actually died; so when you updated the page, you rightly just put October 2014. Then another editor added the 21st unsourced. I've been looking about, and the only source I can find that includes a date is on They Fly So High, in an obit under the byline of Roger Hillier, that says he died on the 20th. Would you consider that reliable enough to change the death date in the article? or alternatively, do you know of any decent sources that confirm the 21st? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:48, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, I remember his death and the announcement at the game shortly afterwards. Personally I would trust the article on They Fly So High which says 20th. One of the co-authors is one of several de-facto West Ham historians, Steve Marsh, who is also a co-author of a soon to be released book on all things West Ham. Doubtless this book will reflect the known date of Barrett's death. Thanks, --Egghead06 (talk) 15:02, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hmmm. Was just in the process of changing it when I found Mr Barrett's profile on Barry Hugman's site, which I must have missed first time round, gives the 21st. Personally, I'd probably trust a reputable specialist site ahead of a generalist, however prestigious its publisher, but maybe we should either remove the date and add a note about contradictory sources, or just shut our eyes and leave it as is until someone buys steals or borrows the book... cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:24, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- I have just pre-ordered this book from Amazon so sometime after 27 August I should hopefully have an undated and reliable source.--Egghead06 (talk) 16:41, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

International Goals concensus
Hi Egghead, I saw your recent reversion at Jimmy Greaves re his International Goals record. I had a bit of a spat at Andros Townsend here. Is this the same issue you have just confronted as I am at a loss why all of a sudden several editors are behaving like intolerant zeolots over this subject. You advice would be much appreciated, thanks. Tmol42 (talk) 21:18, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, yes it's all because of this. Basically about three weeks ago some editors (a few) discussed international goals and some said they thought they should go, some didn't. Some took this short discussion to mean consensus had been made and started deleting. Now, in the discussion above, more input is required. You may wish to add your thoughts on the subject. Cheers. --Egghead06 (talk) 04:32, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Have added my two pennyworth. I think the behaviour of some editors also has to do with their likes and dislikes of some teams/players and they use such discussions as an excuse to partially choose to delete a few selected sections, cheers Tmol42 (talk) 15:32, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Slaven Bilić. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. Reference errors on 19 July
Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Removal of content
As I stated and have now demonstrated, the content at Lee "Scratch" Perry was easily sourced. Please make the effort to improve articles by adding sources rather than removing easily-verified content simply because it is unsourced. --Michig (talk) 13:48, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Enea Jorgji
The article Enea Jorgji has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Non-free rationale for File:David Lloyd Thames Ironworks.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:David Lloyd Thames Ironworks.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:35, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
Alex Iwobi.
Sorry, mis-clicked rollback rather than undo, so explaining here. He clearly has English nationality as well given he represented them at youth level, so I wouldn't consider him an expatriate footballer. GiantSnowman 09:41, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Bow Wow Wow
Any thoughts on what to do with the disruptive edits by Victorraindrop on the Bow Wow Wow page? This user does no other editing on Wikipedia other than reverting sourced factual material on this page. I've reverted these errors numerous times, noticed you did today as well. They refuse to discuss on the Talk Page or listen to factual sources; prefer to cite their own personal knowledge instead, which is clearly POV. Anyway, they don't seem to want to quit being disruptive, any chance we can report the disruption? Thanks. Greg Fasolino (talk) 17:50, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- For any editor who simply won't join in with the rest of us I would suggest the only way forward is to follow what Wiki suggests we do. That is warn for any future violations until he/she oversteps the mark and the editing is obviously disruptive/vandalism. Looks like they are well on their way to reaching this point already!--Egghead06 (talk) 07:18, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Adrián (footballer) - Compromise
Hello there again, from (still) Portugal,
1 - what I wrote in intro was not a deliberate mistake, I should have written "2013" instead of "2012" but did not notice it at first, but since you chose to revert my addition altogether instead of just adjusting, fine it stays that way; 2 - last paragraph of storyline: regarding his contract, I don't think you need to state the year again (in this case 2015) in the same paragraph, but again it stays your way; 3 - where I would like for some wikicompromise if you please is in the display of the sources: I was only trying to be coherent with refs #7, #13 and #20, where the publisher is presented as "West Ham United F.C", why should #29 be any different?
Attentively --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:20, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

"Fairytale of New York" cover versions
Thanks for removing the list of pointless and non-notable cover versions from this article – they didn't add anything to it. I've been working on the article over the last couple of years and hope that it might reach GA status one day: the legacy section needs tidying up and better referencing but it's getting there. Richard3120 (talk) 14:59, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- No problem. I have no issue with cover versions per se but if editors would at least attempt to show why the cover is notable and add a supporting reference, these song articles would be much more succinct, accurate and relate to the song rather than be a dumping ground for any old cover.--Egghead06 (talk) 16:37, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

WP:BURDEN applies here. "I told you" is not a reliable source!--Egghead06 (talk) 06:11, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

Forever Young
Thanks for the note that "we" don't make separate pages for the same song, but "we" also don't do track listings for pages about singles, only those about albums. If you wanna make a plug for consistency, be consistent. Also info box should NOT upstage the original artist unless the recording is more famous -- see for example By the Rivers of Babylon originally by Melodians but the info box shows single by Boney M who made the song popular. If the newbie is truly notable (which winners of contests arguably are), then she deserves her own page, with info box, photo, etc.Martindo (talk) 00:43, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker). If Martino thinks that the Dylan version is being upstaged then improve the Dylan part of the article. There are plenty of other examples where the original artist/writer has been upstaged. Boney M is a red herring. However, I do agree regarding track listings. It's a song article, not a "single" article, which WP doesn't do. --Richhoncho (talk) 01:16, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- I don't even see how the Johnson version has upstaged the original. Dylan is mentioned in the lead, the first 2 infoboxes relate to Dylan and the description of how the song came about is about how/why Dylan wrote it. Adding details of a cover version is normal practice. The fact that this is a 17 year-old from a reality TV show is not important, it has charted and even Dylan was a newbie once. Track listings are normal especially in the digital age where A side/B side are unknown concepts. An example would be Gimme Little Sign where a cover by Peter Andre was a bigger hit than the original by Brenton Wood. The Andre version shows extensive track listing.--Egghead06 (talk) 07:37, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
Money (That's What I Want)
Hi, Just a thought, a category is supposed to be defining. Are you sure song recordings produced by people not even mentioned in the article are actually defining? Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 19:50, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- Have often thought the whole principle of defining has got somewhat muddied. If a defining feature is supposed to be mentioned in the lead of an article, many categories are not and should go. This equally applies here to the categories mentioning, for example, The Searchers, Junior Walker etc.--Egghead06 (talk) 07:37, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think the word "defining" can be muddied, certainly a single category can be disputed, but the wholesale addition of non-notable categories? I created the "Song recordings produced by Tony Hatch" category, but it does not belong on this article. I do remove/cut back/trim excessive lists of "additional covers" and categories. If it's not defining it don't belong. --Richhoncho (talk) 10:16, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Hello User:Egghead06. I see that you have previously edited the John Noakes article. I am looking for an independent second opinion on the use of the Daily Mail to support new material there. It is my view, supported my numerous discussions at WP:RSN, that the newspaper is not a WP:RS and I have therefore deleted, and the latterly tagged, new material added by two (?) anon ips. I have twice invited the anon ip(s) concerned to discuss at the article Talk Page, with no success. My attempts to limit the material have escalated into a minor edit war, with threats and edit summary incivilities from them throw in. The ips concerned both seem to geolocate to California. Any help, or comment, you could give there would be much appreciated. Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:10, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- I don't wish to WP:CANVASS and I don't wish to draw you into a dispute. But are you happy to keep that Daily Mail source just for the detail "with co-presenter Peter Purves later reporting that Noakes refused to speak with Baxter"? I have searched for an alternative source online but without success. Thanks for your time. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:27, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
- I am happy to offer my view and that's all it is, an opinion. I don't like the Mail as a source. Much of its coverage is of the celebrity style and one look at the online page and you will see pages on who has lost weight, who is dating whom, etc. Somewhere in Wiki is says something like "if its notable it will be in a reliable source". I believe if its notable it will have been reported somewhere other than the Mail. --Egghead06 (talk) 12:27, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks. Your view coincides with mine. I'd be very grateful if you could offer it at the article Talk Page (if you don't mind probably being called "a wanker" in return). Martinevans123 (talk) 14:20, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:51, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

removal of unsourced material
Hi,
in this edit you removed unsourced entries from the Netherlands section of List of association football families. While I totally agree that the stuff should be referenced, I think you could've had a little look online and sourced them instead of straight out deleting them. These are also not all unknown players you deleted. For example Johan Cruyff is a legend and anyone who knows anything about soccer knows about him. Just something to keep in mind for future editing.
Cheers! --SuperJew (talk) 07:17, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, after 10 years of editing I get it! I'm more from the "teach a man to fish school". If people can see their unsourced edits will be removed they might LEARN to add them themselves. If we just add them for them, they get lazy - You'd think Google etc were unknown to some editors and afterall the burden is on those who add to also add reliable sources.--Egghead06 (talk) 07:25, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- A lot of these are added by IP's or very new users. With the new users the correct thing IMO is to fix it and to leave a message on their talk page. With IP's most time they run-by-edit and don't look back. In the end of the day we want to make Wikipedia better, not the all the people with access to internet. --SuperJew (talk) 07:49, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- In my experience leaving a message for an anon IP is a complete waste of time. As you say, they edit and don't look back. We make wiki better by removing unsourced information as per WP:RS and WP:V and more relevantly anyone who edits without reading about their requirements is treating editing too lightly. Would you start to drive a car without knowing the rules of the road?--Egghead06 (talk) 08:32, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

I'm puzzled why you keep adding Mooncrest Records ([2]), particularly as you didn't explain your edit with an edit summary (either time). The template is clear enough - this field should be limited to "The record label or labels to which the act has been signed". The only Lord Tanamo release on Mooncrest was a split 7-inch single, both tracks licensed from Trojan Records, i.e. Lord Tanamo was never signed to Mooncrest Records, and likely had no say in the label releasing his music. He had single releases on loads of different labels - too many to mention, so we should just list the main ones, and none that just reissued old material. --Michig (talk) 17:34, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thought you had seen this http://www.45cat.com/record/moon1009 as you had obviously been to the Uk Charts website to see his one chart entry. A notable record and thereby label.--Egghead06 (talk) 20:33, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- Still not a label he was signed to, and not one that released a significant portion of his work, just reissuing one track in fact. --Michig (talk) 06:13, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- His ONLY UK hit is a significant portion.--Egghead06 (talk) 06:59, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

Color commentator
Are you serious about not knowing what is a color commentator? It is the person, usually in a sports broadcasting setting, that provides additional details about what is going on in a athletic event. It can be the same person that is calling the game but then it can also be an additional person that just provides the additional details that suit to entertain and occiput the listeners or viewers.Srednuas Lenoroc (talk) 04:44, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Ten Years After
Hi, I'm not at all familiar with the Wikipedia way of updating things, sorry and I feel I have no time to learn what seems to me a sophisticated way of updating things. You recently removed my updates on the Ten Years After page... hum ! One thing for sure, I'm the booking agent of the said group and cannot allow wrong informations or inaccurate pictures the way they keep appearing on this page! Leo Lyons and Joe Gooch are past members then they are no more representatives of what is currently going on in Ten Years After. This picture should be removed. The current line-up includes Marcus Bonfanti on guitar, Colin Hodgkinson on bass, Ric Lee on drums and Chick Churchill on keyboards. Then the main picture should be the one I posted the other day. Thanks. Also, if you feel your are the only one authorized to the Ten Years After page updates, then please consider the possibility of a correspondence through regular e-mails. I'll probbaly let you do the updates. Thanks. Have a great day. --Arborestanc (talk)
- Hello no problem with anyone adding anything however it must come with a reliable source and any images uploaded must come with permission to use. You uploaded an album cover and stated it was "own work" - it isn't.--Egghead06 (talk) 16:10, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
Ten Years After
Thanks for responding, please keep in mind that this picture TEN-YEARS-AFTER 3342224549176940195.jpg or even this one here after (.png file)
are both the property of Kultopolis GmbH the official agent of TEN YEARS AFTER. As a booking agent working for Kultopolis, these are the tools we daily use for promoting Ten Years After in Europe. Added, there was also this one which is my own caption at Paris Trianon on May 21st, 2016 (I shot this picture and it's way more representative of the current Ten Years After line-up, yet for some reason you or someone else decided it should be removed too when this was my own work: TenYearsAfter ParisTRianon.png . As told, I would be very much interested if you could help me trying to improve the TEN YEARS AFTER page in some more professional manner and according to the current band situation. And for sure, the picture showing Joe Gooch and Leo Lyons should be replaced by my own picture TenYearsAfter ParisTRianon.png the sooner, the best.
With many thanks in advance, Regards Arborestanc (talk

DYK for Bryony Page
On 19 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bryony Page, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Bryony Page is Great Britain's first-ever Olympic medalist in trampolining? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bryony Page. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Bryony Page), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Timi Yuro
Hi Egghead, thank you for your nice message regarding the Timi Yuro edits I made. I wasn't sure if I was doing it right or putting it in the right section. I have little knowledge of how to post on here. I am the one who owns and controls her music and estate. I'm not sure how you put in a citation. My name is on several CD's and I am under contract with Cherry Red Records and Universal Music. I was trying to update some things that have happened after her death regarding her music and her legacy, and so anyone in the business who would look at this page, would know who controls her music catalog. After Duffy was cast as Timi in the motion picture "Legend", it's created quite a stir, and even more interest in her music and legacy since her death. I wanted that included on the page. There are several articles online that talk about Duffy's casting as Timi. There are press releases with my name as well, about the unreleased catalog of her music we released after her death that actually made the charts. If I did anything wrong I apologize. If you could help me or get me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Of course I do have a copy of her will, that shows I control her estate and music, but I don't think that is appropriate to use as a citation. I have had many people in the business who have told me they have come to her Wiki page to try and find out information, about who owns the rights to her music and name, but nothing was here. Just tell me what I need, or if you think something could be worded better than what I added last night, I am open to your suggestions. Thank you so much! Timifan (talk) 05:52, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2009–10 Milton Keynes Dons F.C. season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages David King and Alex Rae. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your recent editing history at David Gilmour shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Invite to the African Destubathon
Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Just One Look (Song)
Hi Egghead06,
I noticed today that, some time ago, my addition of another version of the song "Just One Look" had been removed, for the reason that no sources were provided. I was somewhere between being puzzled and being shocked, and was considering to find out where to report malicious editing. However, I just assumed a silly error and reverted the change. Now You removed it again, and seeing Your standing within Wikipedia, I must assume that something else is going on instead of sillyness or vandalism.
My small addition mentioned the artist covering the song, and the album on which it appeared, and I linked both to their respective Wikipedia-articles, which is the way I created many additions to Wikipedia. Now I am at a loss what I should provide instead, which would actually add value to my addition. If I would apply this criterion to the whole of the article, I don't think there would be much left of it.

Update+stats table
Hi Egghead06, thank you for your editing on the football related article to keep the statistics updated. However when you edit articles please also update the career statistics table in the article to prevent any discrepancies between the ones in the career statistics table and those in the info box. Thanks. Inter&anthro (talk) 23:06, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Would love to but I find it's a question of veracity. The Infobox I can guarantee is correct, the stats table is often corrupt and thus I do not feel I am assured of its veracity. For example, take Cheikhou Kouyaté - both Soccerway and Soccerbase show him with 80 West Ham appearances. You, without changing the as of date, have placed some other figure in the stats table which does not reflect accuracy nor the Infobox. Thus, somehow, the stats table is corrupt. I have no wish to compound this. Maybe you would like to change your edit to reflect accuracy? Also the stats table for Angelo Ogbonna which you have amended is also inaccurate. 7 + 3 are never 8, not even in Italy. Edimilson Fernandes, which you have amended, also has a discrepancy in the stats table. Soccerway shows another figure for his European appearances. Similarly therefore any changes there to league appearances also compounds inaccuracy. Keep up the good work though.--Egghead06 (talk) 05:27, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

No response to formal edit request
Good morning, I am hoping that you may be able to help and respond to my query as a matter of urgency. On Sunday, January 8, at 17:22hrs, I submitted a formal edit request in order to correct some factual errors on the following semi-protected page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karren_Brady I received a response five minutes later from a Wikipedia user named Arjayay, who explained that my request was denied as the request had not been submitted using the correct process. I subsequently re-submitted the request correctly, plus a second request, but have since received no further response, despite leaving messages on the Talk pages of Arjayay and yourself, given that I believe you were responsible for originally switching the page to semi-protected. The factual corrections submitted were supported by links to several reliable sources confirming their authenticity, and I would be grateful if someone could contact me as soon as possible to confirm when the requests will be processed. Many thanks Wikipedia User: Spen79

Songs about celebrities
Hi, Egghead. I'd like to thank you for all your recent edits on the Category:Songs about celebrities. You came across several articles I didn't even know about or hadn't come up with yet. For some strange reason people are now nominating the category Category:Songs about Argentina for deletion. Could you perhaps come in and share your opinion about the matter, here? Stop deleting Shit you know nothing about ;)
I'll appreciate it if you stop deleting caps and goals from liga mx players. Specifically Enner Valencia he played in liga mx league game. Debut and and scored a hat trick. So stick you primer league if you don't follow the liga mx and when the league actually started. Acorona619 (talk) 00:14, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Shit is not a proper noun so just shit not Shit. If you must add details to Enner Valencia'a article, firstly amend the "as of" date in the info box. certes, my edit summary was hysterical and it should not have been because this is an encyclopedia. However, my rant still included the mention of ZEROZERO (OGOL.com is its Brazilian version) being user-generated. David Lloyd - Having researched over 400 Brentford footballers over the past three/four years, you realise that not everything in print or has been posted online is correct. There are always errors. A David Roland Lloyd was born in Hackney in 1872, registered in the third quarter (Jul/Aug/Sep). He became a baptist minister and changed his name to Rowland David Lloyd. He died on 18 Apr 1950 in Cambridge. Unless you can furnish me with the other David Lloyd that was born in Hackney in 1872?
It is said David Lloyd was with the Grenadier Guards. Well, there is one record known of a "David Lloyd" with the Grendier Guards. He joined the 3rd Battllion in Ocotber 1894 before discharging himself in December 1894. He re-joined the Grenadier Guards just 3 months later in March 1895. This particular David Lloyd was born in Stockton, but his Army record says Thornaby Yorkshire (this is where he lived however). His Army numbers were 5033 and 5230. A Private in the 3rd and 2nd Grenadier Guards.
This particular David Lloyd comes up on the 1901 Census as living/boarding in Fulham. Where was he playing in 1901? Yes, Fulham. Coincidence? He is listed as a Hot Water Fitter Labourer. Born in Thornaby on Tees Yorks. (Stockton on Tees is where he was registered in 1874). I can follow his census records back to 1881. His next record is on the 1939 Register. Living in........Willesden. Where did he end his career? Yep, Willesden. Coincidence? He is a single man. A Motor Fitter. Born 27 March 1874. Matching the Stockton birth record.
Now, he could be the wrong man, however, evidence is pretty strong.
The current known records, whether in books or online, are from where exactly? Has anyone questioned these to see if they are correct? Highly unlikely.
During my thorough searches, I've come across many irregularities especially from the 'bible' that many seem to create their records from, Joyce's Football League Players' Records 1888-1939. Not everything within it is correct. I doubt it's been questioned in years.
Anyway, if you wish to have the info that I've gleaned from my searches, just email me at paulbriers65@gmail.com.

- First of all, may I say, excellent research on your part. However, putting on my Wikipedia hat, I can only go with reliable and verifiable sources. In this case I used John Powles "Iron In The Blood", a published work of 2005 on everything Thames Ironworks FC. He had place of birth as Hackney, June qtr 1872. He also quotes "active service" in the Boer War for Lloyd. One of you is right, one isn't. Unfortunately I can only go with that which I can reference which in this case is Powles book.--Egghead06 (talk) 03:17, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

- And I can say the same to you. You reverted my edit without any discussion. Thought you would know better also.--Egghead06 (talk) 16:59, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- I have attempted to discuss the whole issue on the article talk page. Twice. You have not responded. Please do so. I also suggest that you remind yourself of when templates should and should not be used - both on articles, and on newbie talk pages, as your understanding appears faulty. Ghmyrtle (talk) 17:02, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- I have and am still amazed that you would fly in the face of all the requirements of Wiki re reliable sources and verifiability and accept a newbies claim of death without one single solitary reference. Please remind yourself just how important these two factors are to a trustworthy encyclopedia.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:07, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- I have covered those points on the article talk page. There are independent reliable sources - the issue is verifiability. Ghmyrtle (talk) 17:32, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
Hello Egghead06, first of all thank you for your wiki-work. I have reverted your edit of the above article for the reasons below, I include these in the way I wrote them on the talk page of the article.
Other recordings: notability
I argue that a recording of a song with a wiki-article by an artist with a wiki-article qualifies as something notable, 2 positives as it were. Furthermore I strongly argue that having a list of recordings of a song that has its own wiki-article in the wiki-article is a good thing, showing the breadth (or not) of artists who have recorded that song, showing the time periods of popularity of the song and giving an idea of the evolution of the interpretation of the song (or not)
I understand that this may be an example of inclusiveness vs exclusiveness, however I hope that the reason I give for inclusion of recordings in a song article may explain while I feel that they should be part of an article. Is this acceptable to you? Brunswicknic (talk) 08:44, 21 October 2017 (UTC) Dear Egghead06, I read the wiki-protocols, left a discussion, and chose to revert back to the existing page. Piece of my heart https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piece_of_My_Heart
Hi Egghead, you removed a whole lot of an article that had been there presumably for years, based on “Nothing here passes” but lack any explanation of “nothing here passes” what? Notability? This material has been there presumably for years, for example, Delaney and Bonnie, Sammy Hagar, CeeLo Green. The only addition in recent edits was the version by Company of Thieves on Live from Daryl’s House, Daryl Hall ranking arguably high in the notability stakes. However if you had only removed that, the addition, fair enough, one can throw it upstairs to a senior mediator to make a decision for or against on whatever grounds you choose, but to remove all the other “other versions” seems an oversight pert=haps in unawareness of the history of this article. It is possible that you may have made this judgement based on purely objective evaluation, however it seems the judgement was prompted by a recent edit, to which your response seemed to encompass more than what that recent edit actually did. If you think you were right to remove that whole section, knowing it has been largely present in the article for some time, fair enough. I’d be interested in hearing more details on your reasoning, and what others feel about situations like this. It would seem to me what was there before (nothing to do with my edit) contained some pretty good info. Respectfully Robertwhyteus (talk) 05:12, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

West Ham/Thames Ironworks categories
Hi Egghead06, I'm in the process of working through the old West Ham player articles that I created. I see that you have created Category:Thames Ironworks F.C. players since then, so now a fair few of those players are in that and the parent Category:West Ham United F.C. players. I was just wondering if there was a standard that you followed. Personally, I wouldn't include the TIW players in the WH cat unless they were there during the name-change/reincorporation, but I'm happy to follow current practice/consensus if there is one. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 18:56, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, and good to see someone working on those West Ham related articles. When I set the TIW category up it was not in a parent category. The second editor added that. I would remove that beacuase, as you know, being a TIW player does not make you a WHU player.--Egghead06 (talk) 06:51, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, thanks. I'll go ahead and remove purely TIW players from the WH cat (I think I may have already done this for a couple). In terms of whether the TIW cat should be a subcat of the WH one, there seems to be precedent the other way at Category:Dagenham F.C. players, which has a See also, rather than being a subcat of Category:Dagenham & Redbridge F.C. players. I'm open either way as long as there is a link between the two (and consistency with other cats). I'll raise it at WT:FOOTY.
- By the way, I noticed your edit on the David Cross article a little while back. I agree it's sensible to make that clear, particularly to avoid conflict with positions recorded on the 1980 FA Cup Final article, but I took it as an excuse to rewatch the game. He does indeed cut a rather lonely figure up front, particularly after the goal goes in. COYI. Nzd (talk) 13:20, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

I've just come across your excellent photo of the outhouse at the Birmingham Back to back houses [4]. I tried to change the description but I guess I'm not allowed to, which is reasonable. apologies if it seemed like i was trying to convey i speak/spoke better English than a native (i DO NOT), but "...for in the region of €40 million" just does not (to me, that is) sound right grammatically. Please help me with...Deletion policy. Yesterday I created a well referenced article for Moses Makasi a notable footballer only to have it deleted under criteria G6 and be replaced moments later by the deleter's own version without comment. Is this policy now that admins can just delete articles without discussion?
Egghead06 (talk) 17:03, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Egghead06. G6 deletions are for technical, uncontroversial maintainence. In this case the article was deleted in order to allow for a move to restore the page history, which shows all of your edits both before and after the move. Note that no editor "owns" any Wikipedia articles: This is a collaborative encyclopaedia where everybody's edits are welcome, and I can see plenty of your edits n that page history. Thanks for contributing!! -- Thanks, Alfie. talk to me | contribs 18:59, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks and I understand the procedural need to restore history but that doesn't explain why my efforts in creating the article are discarded in favour of the admin's own version. Unless of course they were simply trying to get their article creation count up? --Egghead06 (talk) 03:44, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- They weren't, according to the article's edit history. You have many edits on that article. Remember: Wikipedia is not a competition, it is a collaboration. -- Thanks, Alfie. talk to me | contribs 03:51, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you. Could you please tell me how I can ensure future articles I create are not simply deleted G6 for admin purposes without any discussion or notification and then recreated without my content? --Egghead06 (talk) 07:41, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
In short, no, because that's not what happened here. Your content was merged into the other editor's draft of the page (Which, now looking at it, they seem to have created before you created your draft), and you have given attribution for the content which you added. Again, you do not WP:OWN the articles you create.

While we write on refereeing career, does it make any sense at all to include one jumbo-sized paragraph on a single match and the post match reactions? This is a person's biography and not a match report section that we need to cover the Real Madrid v Juventus match in such detail. Makes zero sense in a living person's biography and seems like a BBC or Guardian match report on the particular UCL tie. I've earlier seen such contents removed from referees' pages! Cricket246 (talk) 22:23, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, and a good morning to you😊. Firstly I would ask that you lessen the confrontational tone, there is no need for it. Secondly, I would disagree with you. On an international level, this is the single most significant refereeing event in Oliver's life.--Egghead06 (talk) 04:25, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- Surely no "confrontation" at all over here... Overall I've seen controversial situations being covered in details being removed... I think in Howard Webb's page during a quality review such a thing was advised to be removed citing the exact same reason of a biography not being a match report... That's why I brought up this question basically! Cricket246 (talk) 22:20, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Hiya, regarding this, are you sure it's the same club? Joyce has the club name as 'Erith' and is usually reliable in that respect. FCHD lists them separately.[6] Nzd (talk) 01:40, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, I think, going by the years, yes. FCHD has Erith but only the very early years of the century. Erith & Belvedere were a much more prominent club around the time Coshall joined WHU with some prominence in the Amateur Cup. Erith Town were only formed in 1959. If you do a Google search on "John Coshall Erith & Belvedere" an academic study of foreign coaches appears and has the content relating to Coshall once of Erith & Belvedere being taken to Cannes. Unfortunately it's behind a paywall so I can't reference it.--Egghead06 (talk) 05:06, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- Brilliant thanks. I've found the paper and see that the pertinent bit comes up in the google search but not in the abstract. I'll see if I can get hold of a copy, but I think a citation like this should be OK wouldn't you think?Taylor, Matthew (2010). "Football's Engineers? British Football Coaches, Migration and Intercultural Transfer, c.1910–c.1950s". Sport in History. 32 (5): 138–163. doi:10.1080/17460261003617011.
Cornelius's connections were doubtless significant in the move of two other former Erith and Belvedere players, Stan Hillier and John Coshall, to AS Cannes at around the same time
Cheers, Nzd (talk) 12:12, 26 April 2018 (UTC)- I've added this and another ref that came up in a search. Both sources follow a similar theme so I've mentioned a bit about his contemporaries – the Soccer History ref is available via Google cache. You might also be interested to know that one Len Puddefoot was amongst the players in the South of France around that time, joining Cette (as the club was then called) for a season in the early 1920s. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:17, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

St Cecilia
St Cecilia are still a working band and spell their name Cecilia. NOT Cecelia. Why would they - it doesn't and didn't make sense. I'm willing to believe that it does say Cecelia on the record, but that does not make it right.Picknick99 (talk) 11:48, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

Tammy Wynette is Dead
I don't even particularly like Tammy Wynette but it is a fact that she is dead and I noticed that she was missing on the List of Deaths in Music. Her page on Wikipedia says she is dead and it is common knowledge. She "IS" dead. You took her down stating there was no citation. Frank Sinatra is dead too and there is no citation...you didn't take him down...there are also over 500 other deaths that don't have citations and you didn't take them down. Instead of taking down something that is a fact why didn't you just cite it if it was so important to you. Please don't be "that" guy on Wikipedia....it's annoying. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anetek3D (talk • contribs) 13:53, 25 August 2018 (UTC)

Johnny Carroll
Hi Egghead, I was just looking at the Johnny Carroll article and it says he was an outside forward. I don't have a copy of the 1995 Who's Who but the 2006 ed has him at CF, as does Hugman. West Ham Stats also have him playing all of his 5 games at number 9. Was this an error? Also, the subsequent edits by Raycarro (talk · contribs) appear to be unsourced. I assume the additional info is not covered in your copy? Thanks, Nzd (talk) 21:36, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I have checked my 1995 version and 1986 version and both have him as a CF, so yes, an error on my part. Not sure why I put OF! Of the rest of the article, only my original version is covered by sources given. All the remaining copy on matches, guest of honour, Swansea, Sheffield Wednesday, etc, is unsourced and not mentioned in WHU Who's Who.--Egghead06 (talk) 07:47, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've restored your version and fixed the position. I had a quick look and couldn't find much else out there about him. He was certainly at that floodlit match but being a 'guest of honour' isn't mentioned on the theyflysohigh writeup.[7] Nzd (talk) 11:06, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Cheers. Another subject; is he still alive? Only a few weeks ago whufc.com carried an interview with Frank O'Farrell and quoted him at 91 as the oldest living Hammer. Carroll is(?) 95!?--Egghead06 (talk) 11:22, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, I had wondered that myself. The other editor, who from the name sounds like it could be a family member, had added persondata saying he'd died in Limerick on 17 October 2001, but I haven't been able verify this. I wondered if he'd attended during the final season at UP as every living (contactable) former player was supposed to be there at some point. I'll make some enquiries. Try a little tenderness, in/exclusionism and further comment
Egghead06, I have returned after some time to editing wiki (I noticed an error in Tanya Tucker). I disagree with your deleting many people's work from the article [[Try a Little Tenderness]. I strongly believe that wiki policies allow such as per my argument on the talk page. I my addition to the talk page I vent about individual exclusionists overriding the work of many others with a strong interest in the particular topic. I affirm that what I said there is an accurate reflection of wiki behaviour and policies. I emphasize however that I do not intend this to be a personal attack on yourself. I disagree with your editing in this instance, and if I am correct I disagree with your view of wikipedia. But I do not intend to suggest you are a bad person yourself. I also had a bit of a wiki-rant, again not personally directed at you but at the what-at-times seems to be the bubble world of US computer owners/wiki editors from the perspective of non-US, not-computer addicted individuals. Thank you for your contributions to wikiBrunswicknic (talk) 12:51, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

John Northcutt
Hey Egghead, not sure if you heard, but Steve Marsh e-mailed me the other day to let me know that John Northcutt had sadly passed away (aged 73). There is a note on theyflysohigh. As well as the Complete Record books, he was a regular contributor to the official programme and website, and wrote various other books, including The Claret and Blue Book of West Ham United, West Ham United: On This Day, The Definitive West Ham United F. C. and West Ham United in the League Cup, which I'll be making a point of obtaining. (FYI @Koncorde). Nzd (talk) 17:05, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks @Nzd, never spoke to him but read a few samples of his books over the years. I probably need to check them up. Koncorde (talk) 18:52, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Nzd, sorry to hear this. Got all of those books except the League Cup one. I sold some WHU stuff (tickets, memorabilia) to him on eBay a few years back too! A major player in documenting all that is West Ham.--Egghead06 (talk) 09:19, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Out of interest, what's in the Definitive book? Anything that's not covered by the later Complete Record? I'm wondering what to spend my Christmas money on. Nzd (talk) 01:46, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

George Neil(l)
Quick question about George Neill: Two of the three refs used in the article have the named spelled with one 'l'. As well as West Ham Stats (a tertiary source), it has two in Hogg's Who's Who, Blows and Hogg's Essential History, and Belton's Miscellany and The Thames Ironworks books . The 'one l camp' also includes the second Powles book, Complete Record and Theyflysohigh (which has a full name of George Mitchell Neil and an exact date of birth). The records for this name are available on FreeBMD.[8][9]
There is also this contemporary source:
"Royal Engineer Training Battalion Club". Sporting Life. 8 August 1898. p. 7 – via British Newspaper Archive. Full backs: Walter Tranter, late Middlesbrough, age 22, height 5ft. 10in, weight 12st 2lb; Arthur E. Margeram (late Swanscombe), age 21, height [illegible], weight 15st; George Neil (late West Norwood), age 23, height 5ft. 10in, weight 12st"
..although I note that this lists Arthur Marjeram with a 'g', which you appear to have adequately explained is incorrect. I couldn't find anything in the BNA with two l's.
Do you think this is sufficient to move the page to George Neil, with a note that some sources have him as Neill? Thanks, Nzd (talk) 01:46, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, can't really remember my logic in creating this with two l's but given the references in the article and those you have found, I would say, yes move to George Neil. I like Powles. He is very enthusiastic in his writing and obviously does full research. He has "Neil" so a move would be in order, I think.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:29, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

Close paraphrasing issues on Jack Sullivan (managing director)
Hello Egghead06. I recently removed some of your prose that closely paraphrased a source from Jack Sullivan (managing director). Changing a couple of words from copyrighted text isn't enough; the structure also needs to be wholly your own. But I'm sure you know all this already having been around so long, so this is just a quick reminder. Thanks – Teratix ₵ 13:00, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

I see you're a West Ham fan too--still trivial. A better thing to look into is why we have a category for "Former Roman Catholics" but not for "Former porn stars"; that strikes me as wrong. Drmies (talk) 02:31, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

While you're at it, please include also that she got tickets for the NCAA final last year. And that she was disappointed in Game of Thrones. But she watched the Chernobyl show. Igor Štimac name
You recently asked for a consensus. I have given enough reason to the other editor. He seems to think that the article is of Croatian readers only, whereas it for all as we all know. He is proving himself wrong everytime he gives me an example but still fail to understand that, first he has given me a video link where the speaker clearly pronounce his name as "STEE...MATZ" which means the phonetics end with a "TZ" sound. Now in english language we never use "C" for "TZ". Using "C" at the end means "K" sound. Secondly he himself is saying "C is pronounced like "TZ" in Croatian", that because croatian use another LANGUAGE as suitable as they like, but when we in english literature we convert a name, so that the reader can easily understand the pronounciation we nill never use Croatian version otherwise english reader will never pronounce that name correctly. Its already creating problem among football fans in India to call his name, and its embarassing also to call the coach with wrong name. Everyone is pronouncing his name "STEEMAK" as there is a "C" at the end. So when a person will see "Štimac" not a single english reader will pronounce that as "STEEMATZ", will you, no. But if I put the CYrillic " С́ " its vry easy to understand that its "STEEMATZ" same as the people of Croatian origin living at USA use "TZ" at the end, they dont use "C" as it means "K" instead of "TZ", so they directly use "TZ". Again I have given many example or you can say almost all croation name ending with "tz" in the Serbo-Croatian language use " С́ " like Ivan Rakitić" , "Luka Modrić" or "Ivan Perišić" or "Danijel Subašić" or "Andrej Kramarić" or "Lovre Kalinić"...its endless.
Finally, now why I am addressing to you speciallly, its because i think the editor is using Sockpuppet with the name "FUTEBOL 9". I don't know what steps can be taken now. Please do soemthing, and let me know what should be done. Dey subrata (talk) 17:18, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

Not sure how you could make the argument that Kelleher is now notable just because he was on the bench for the Champions League final. The only reason he was on the bench is because UEFA expanded the bench to 12 players, and he's never even played in a game! – PeeJay 08:36, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- I find his position re notability as an unusual one. Yes, he has never played a pro game but he has a medal from the highest domestic European competition and is the subject of reliable sources. I feel this at least deserves a deletion discussion of a wider nature rather than just Prodding for deletion. Feel both delete and keep have their merits.--Egghead06 (talk) 08:44, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I agree, because if you look at his career as a whole right now, he hasn't done anything noteworthy. At the moment, despite having been named on the bench for a Champions League final, he's just another youth footballer. But be that as it may, I will happily start an AfD, and in a few days, the article will be deleted and we'll be in the same position we would have been in if the PROD had remained in place. – PeeJay 16:21, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

I don't understand why some of the covers are considered non notable. 77.153.110.132 (talk) 15:00, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
And why is that book linked? 77.153.110.132 (talk) 15:09, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- Have you read WP:SONGCOVER? If so, do you need any part explaining?--Egghead06 (talk) 15:11, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- Yes and I thought most of the covers listed qualified - Songs and singles are probably notable if they have been the subject[1] of multiple,[2] non-trivial[3] published works whose sources are independent of the artist and label. Even the recent one is notable as it has so many mentions linked to the Apollo11 50 years coverage. I still don't understand what the book link has to do with it. 77.153.110.132 (talk) 15:44, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- Then you'd be wrong. In the case the Secondhandsongs, discogs and AllMusic references are the exact definition of trivial in that they are merely mentions of the recording with no prose, context or perceived notability. In short, just listings.--Egghead06 (talk) 16:57, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Puff (Up in Smoke).jpeg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Puff (Up in Smoke).jpeg.
Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Recent edit reversion
In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.S Philbrick(Talk) 12:13, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

I have quite a few photos and programs that I would love to share on this page. Unfortunately I just do not have the knowledge on how to share or upload it. Mc18days (talk) 22:08, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, your best bet would be to read WP:IUP. This gives details on just what you can upload to Wiki. The basic issue is copyright. Anything you upload must be available for Wiki to use without violating copyright issues. Any personal photos you have are unlikely to cause any copyright problems as they are yours. Programs are more contentious. They are published documents and as such the publisher may still have some say as to where they are used and for what reason. Different countries have different rules on what and when items become free to use so best to check on a document by document case.--Egghead06 (talk) 03:35, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
Good day again - I removed all content that I have added in the past and removed the URL from the FA's website showing Charles was the first black footballer to score for an England football team. - Am happy to help. Do you have a specific question?--Egghead06 (talk) 15:38, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Yes - I would love it if my father had more recognition for being the first black guy to ever play football for England. I attempted to modify the page that you kindly created, but I have clearly made it worse. I do not have the experience or time to read all the rules. The banner or template on the front page makes it looks worse that when I first editied it. I provided some evidence, but I would rather just forget all about this and let somebody else update this page in the future and for the conflict of interest banner removed. as i do not intend on editing it or adding info again. I just do not understand how there is such little amount written about Charles, but when i try to share some historical knowledge showing the John was a true pioneer, i get a banner added which in my opinion looks worse. Hence my reason for just giving up.Mc18days (talk) 21:13, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

Re: Ray Davies: Personal Life
"Hey, I noticed you undid my edit about his sexuality and I agree that maybe "bisexual" may not be the best way to phrase him expressing his attraction to men on multiple occasions in interviews, but it seemed like the least clunky way to put it and is the definition of "bisexual." If you have any ideas on a less simplistic way to express that info, please suggest it. Do you think adding the specific quotes from the interviews would be better? I just didn't want to make that the bulk of the section and noticed that someone previously had already simplified it as "Davies is bisexual", so I thought that was the best way to go. Thanks!" going to copy this from the user who initially reinstated the edit about his sexuality and also just add that Interview Magazine and The Independent aren't inherently unreliable sources, unless its the third-party nature you're taking umbrage with (although many citations on this page cite third-party/archived interviews/articles)/the specific defining as "bisexual'?

The article Vadims Direktorenko has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
a biographical article with no assertion or evidence of notability; fails WP:GNG and any other applicable guideline
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Spiderone 20:54, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Bruce Reynolds.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Bruce Reynolds.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. A tag has been placed on Category:21st century in the London Borough of Wandsworth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Jack Taylor’s date of birth
We seem to be stuck in a bit of a loop!
In 2012 Jack Taylor passed away. Obituaries featured in a host of newspapers. They carried the wrong date of birth - presumably picked up following cursory glances at Wikipedia or through speaking with those close to him.
Quite a few people in the family were born on the 21st day of their respective month. His daughter was born on 21st April. One of his granddaughters was born on 21st June. Jack was born on 21st May.
I don’t know how to cite a Twitter post or whether it is at all possible. Frankly, I don’t care. However, I do know that, if you search on Twitter “@leannejknight Jack Taylor”, you will see my wife’s sister commenting on what would be Jack’s 90th birthday. Search for “Jack Taylor referee”, and you will see one or two family members commenting on incorrect birthday best wishes.
It is arguably the case that only you and Jack’s family care about his date of birth. Please have a little bit of faith that we can speak with significantly more confidence on this subject than anyone else. Augustus End (talk) 21:08, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- For Wikipedia purposes the views of an individual count for little, including me. Wikipedia goes by reliable sources which are verifiable. The Guardian is considered a reliable source. I doubt a tweet from your wife’s sister would be. If you have issues with the date given I would suggest you approach the sources of those dates to rectify as, at the moment, this is all we have to verify a date of birth for Wikipedia purposes.--Egghead06 (talk) 06:43, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
If this was a game of cards, an entry in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography takes some beating. Augustus End (talk) 20:31, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- You seem to misinterpret my intentions. I have no views on Jack Taylor’s birthdate one way or the other. I just try to keep Wikipedia accurate and know that reliable sources which can be verified are the cornerstone. Hopefully you will succeed in achieving your aim re his birthdate.--Egghead06 (talk) 05:32, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
If you’ve read the link I’ve provided, you should now realise that everything I’ve stated is correct - an entry in the ODNB is a pretty big deal. Please don’t be offended, but when I get a moment I’m going to: delete your citations; change his date of birth back to 21st May; and, add the ODNB citation.
Augustus End (talk) 13:39, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- I’d suggest you wait for the OTRS to approve your email. If not you will only enter into a long discussion as to which reference trumps which and believe me, that sort of discussion can go on for weeks.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:06, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

As a previous contributor to this article, I wondered if you might take a look at some recent POV-pushing that has no place in the article. I don't want to go 3RR but clearly the content has no place there. Look at today's history (24 July). Thanks in advance. 10mmsocket (talk) 09:49, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi. You recently reverted two edits on London Borough of Newham relating to historic counties. There has been a lot of discussion (argument) on wikipedia concerning historic counties and how/where they should be referred to in articles. Please see Plaistow, Newham, Stratford, London, Woodford, London and Chingford as examples. Do you have any particular view on the subject? It would be nice if there could be a consensus on the subject but I am beginning to think it is not possible. Regards, LenF54 (talk) 12:42, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, can you point me towards this discussion please?--Egghead06 (talk) 16:55, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sadly, there's a lot of it. I suggest you start with User talk:PlatinumClipper96 since he/she has clear views which are not shared by some, and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject London where you should read the comments under the heading User Roger8Roger and historic counties. These talk pages contain links to other relevant discussions. My own view on the subject is that, for example, Plaistow is in Newham which is a London borough and therefore in Greater London while, historically, it was in Essex. Some agree; some don't. There appears to be consensus that such things should be mentioned in the Infobox, but there doesn't seem to be consensus as to how and where it should appear in the article. PlatinumClipper96 and Roger8Roger argue that Newham IS STILL in the historic county of Essex. Regards, LenF54 (talk) 17:20, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
Fire and Rain
You undid a factually accurate edit on the entry for the James Taylor song "Fire and Rain". Why did you do so?
- Have you read WP:SONGCOVER? If not I suggest you do.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:50, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- And exactly what aspect of WP:SONGCOVER are you alluding to? Do you feel that a song from a #1 album released in the same year as the credited version doesn't fit your definition of "significance"? Or is there a valid consideration? --WoodrowCharles
- Can you please tell me how this version passes WP: SONGCOVER?--Egghead06 (talk) 05:04, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

West Ham v Man Utd attendance
Hi mate, just curious, how sure are you that the 11v11 figure is accurate? Not even West Ham themselves have reported an attendance figure. I couldn't find one on the BBC, Sky Sports or either of the two clubs' websites. Is it perhaps reported in a fixture list in the most recent West Ham home programme? – PeeJay 08:19, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, not sure really other than I believed 11v11 to be the website of the Football Statisticians group (or a similarly named organisation!?). I don’t buy the programme anymore so don’t have access to the one from the game I went to last weekend v Brentford. Will have sight of one on 21 October v Genk in the Europa League. Will check then.--Egghead06 (talk) 09:27, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks mate, I appreciate it. It was annoying me that the cell was empty on the Man Utd page, but I couldn't find a reliable source, so it's great if 11v11 is accurate, I just wonder where they got their info from. – PeeJay 14:35, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Mendy sourcing
Hi there, I received your message on my talk page regarding his future at Manchester City. My edit was based on this source which is cited at the 2022–23 Manchester City F.C. season page. It clearly shows that Mendy is not under contract with the club though if it is not considered enough I am happy to leave it until more concrete evidence is found. BTW, I have been around for a little while now and have a fair bit of experience and don't think I need pointing to Referencing for beginners. Cheers! REDMAN 2019 (talk) 16:37, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Surprised then you would add something like this with a reference? Cheers.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:00, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- It is not exactly standard to reference players departures in the infobox. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 17:02, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed but then you might have expected that someone seeing your edit might think, where’s the source for that then? You should have added a source, if you’d had one, in the prose. Doubtless something more concrete will be along to verify this.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:11, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Stephen Barclay MP
Dear Sir,
I just wanted to inform you that there was a small part of your brilliant Stephen Barclay Article that was incorrect as reported by Stephens father Bob Barclay who is a close friend. This came to light following a recent article in the Blackpool Gazette which was taken from Wikipedia. I have made a very small amendment following a request in the early life and education section.
It previously read His father worked as a full time trade union official and then in IT. Which is not correct. It now reads, His father worked in IT for 55 years, during which he was seconded for 3 years to the company’s Staff Association, which later became the Banking and Insurance Union.
I will be most grateful if you could keep this edit.
many thanks Apersonofinterest20 (talk) 14:03, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
We'll meet again?
Why on earth are you hellbent on removing the part on the songs appearances on tv shows? a few weeks ago I visited the songs page to figure out where i had heard it before, and found the information i was looking for in that section. And it made me happy. Wikipedia is about the end user experience. and you are not adding to it, you are ruining it. 02:37, 19 July 2022 (UTC) kind regards, your friendly neighbourhood Wabadoodel Wabadoodel (talk) 02:37, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- Please read MOS:POPCULT. SImple reference are not enough. Also please see WP:IMDB and WP:RSDISCOGS. They just are not reliable sources are they are user generated.--Egghead06 (talk) 04:36, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
