Clone Changes using AWB

I noticed that on Ra's Al Ghul, you changed clone to clone... seems that in that particular case, clone would've been more appropriate. You might want to review the AWB works to check on other pages where a more case-specific disambig could be made. If not, please let me know why Cloning's better? Thanks for pointing this out. On my initial pass on 'clone' links I used 'Clone (genetics)' but then it appeared that 'Cloning' was being changed to handle all various forms of cloning. It seems I caught that page in the middle of a number of edits (some vandalism). Probably should have stuck with the 'Clone (genetics)'. Anyway, I went back and reviewed all the 'Cloning' changes and updated where I thought appropriate. ChrisCork 03:28, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

A question on AWB

Hi fellow wikignome, I wonder if you could help me in this. I have also applied for AWB and it was accepted, so I tried to dowload it and the file doesn't execute. I use Firefox for browsing mostly, should I use IE to (re-)download the file? Hoverfish 07:42, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey Hoverfish. Welcome aboard. Hopefully I can help you with this. It should have anything to do with downloading the file from Firefox or IE. The AWB requires version 2 of the .NET framework to run properly. Look under 'Control Panel'...'Add or Remove Programs' to see if you have 'Microsoft .NET framework 2.0' installed. I also both Firefox and IE for browsing and have noticed that if I'm logged onto Wikipedia under Firefox and run AWB, I need to log in again. Hopefully this helps. Disambiguating "Native Americans"

On History of tax resistance you've twice changed an internal link to "Native Americans" to point to "Native Americans in the United States" instead. But this particular instance is referring particularly to Native Americans in Canada, so you are making an incorrection. Please stop. -Moorlock 03:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing typos on creation/evolution controversy

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. Amendment to Crolla

Hi ChrisCork, thanks for your amendment to Crolla, but a quick question for you. I didn't fix 1940s and 1950s as it was within a quote in The New York Times – I personally dislike apostrophes to denote periods and never use them as I consider this a clear misuse, but not everyone shares this view, as shown by this piece in NYT. So, if it's in a quote should it be left as is, warts and all? Let me know what you think because I'm not sure. Do strongly prefer this version so happy if you agree we leave this as is.
