| Tinlinkin is taking a short wikibreak and will be back on Wikipedia the week of July 19th. |
TINLINKIN = a portmanteau of Tinley Park, Illinois and the band Linkin Park.
I am interested in many subjects, but most of my contributions have been in the areas of public transportation and television shows (how they suck you in...). Of particular interest is the New York City Subway, a subject that still has a lot of potential for development on Wikipedia. I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, of which I have been waffling on how to use it.
I will be on/off Wikipedia in the near future for personal reasons. The project I have now is: to create a good app using data from the New York MTA.[1] I realize there is too much on my plate here in Wikipedia: there's so much I want to accomplish but I get fatigued after a short time. I am also beginning to dislike the merciless editing that, while some edits are improvements, others are not and edit warring is not good for anybody. I edit for the good of Wikipedia and the collaborative spirit—I don't like it when somebody forces an inferior edit into Wikipedia and I have to defend against it. This is not to say that I own articles (and I hope I don't come across that way, please tell me if I do), but I come with good intent that I hope will be appreciated by other people. Being repulsed all too often by edit wars, I often stay away for some time before returning. So I am forcing myself to take it easy and I will contribute whenever I can.
