First of all, let me introduce myself. I have lived for about four years in Malaysia and currently living in Doha, Qatar. I have been roaming around Wikipedia looking for an article that requires editing since September 2009. In my free time, I will go to Wikipedia to read any random article and modify it where necessary. Most of the time I will be at Simple English Wikipedia to expand stub or sub-stub articles and adding redirects. My interest in Wikipedia began on August 2008 where I gradually depended on it to make some of my projects and researches. However it was not until a couple of months ago where I started to feel the need of helping Wikipedia in expanding its articles. Thanks, WikiProjects I am currently active on Wikipedia:WikiProject Qatar mainly adding references and expanding stub articles. Feel free to join the WikiProjects to help it. Picture of the day The golden-fronted woodpecker (Melanerpes aurifrons) is a species of bird in the woodpecker family, Picidae. It is found in the southern United States, Mexico and parts of Central America. It inhabits mesic and xeric landscapes, including mesquite brushlands and riparian woodlands. It can also be found in urban parks and suburban areas. Males and females have the same plumage except for the pattern on their heads. Adult males have a red crown and a golden orange to yellow nape with a gap between them; females have a grayish crown and a paler yellow nape. The golden-fronted woodpecker has a diet of adult and larval arthropods, some aerial insects, fruit, nuts and corn, as well as occasionally eating other birds' eggs.
