I am a chemist with 20 years college professor experience and 10+ years US government experience. The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is my current employer. There I am a data manager/steward for the agency substance database which generates the UNique Ingredient Identifiers (UNIIs) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unique_Ingredient_Identifier freely available on PrecisionFDA https://precision.fda.gov/uniisearch and other websites. I monitor and validate UNIIs used in Wikipedia Data Boxes to provide Wikipedia users with the most relevant identifier content. Some of this work is done while FDA is paying me but often as a volunteer. I frequently validate other Data Box identifiers on these pages. This could be seen as a Conflict of Interest but FDA does make UNIIs free and ditributable.Fswitzer4 (talk) 20:50, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
