Article Rating
editI changed the article rating from "stub" to "c-class" as it seems to encompass all the requirements of a c-class article (I've bolded what I feel is the most pertinent for this article):
- The article is substantial, but is still missing important content or contains a lot of irrelevant material. The article should have some references to reliable sources, but may still have significant issues or require substantial cleanup.
- The article is better developed in style, structure and quality than Start-Class, but fails one or more of the criteria for B-Class. It may have some gaps or missing elements; need editing for clarity, balance or flow; or contain policy violations such as bias or original research.
- Articles on fictional topics are likely to be marked as C-Class if they are written from an in-universe perspective.
- Useful to a casual reader, but would not provide a complete picture for even a moderately detailed study.
- Considerable editing is needed to close gaps in content and address cleanup issues.
If anyone with more of an understanding of the class scale feels otherwise, please don't listen to me. I know the article is definitely not above c-class, but I'm pretty sure it's not below either. Kelakagandy (talk) 22:57, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- -I agree, this article isn't doesn't have very many citations as far as the character listings go. Plus, it could use a few pictures here and there. And as far as well-written goes, ... that's hard to keep, as well. I usually try to clean up everything once a week, and I find it horrible if someone edits it and tries to cite by saying, "Love occurs in this episode." If that's the case, that should go in the anime episode list. And just because people are so excited about Ichigo's and Kashino's blossoming love doesn't mean they should spoil it for everyone and put it all over the Wikipedia page. Irrelevant details kind of pop up here and there. (Of course, this is what I personally think is irrelevant.) But honestly, I just recently joined Wikipedia, so I'm not quite sure if the way I've been handling the article page is all right or not. I know it needs more citations and pictures, at the very least. I honestly think the main problem with the article now is that it doesn't mean this particular B-class standard: A few aspects of content and style need to be addressed. Expert knowledge may be needed. The inclusion of supporting materials should also be considered if practical, and the article checked for general compliance with the Manual of Style and related style guidelines. What do you think? - I think the main problem is that it's a show for younger viewers and they all feel the need to run and update the article after every episode. If we could somehow get semi-protection for it (as an ongoing series, it might not be too hard, I simply don't know how to do that), it would automatically get better. I've added countless hidden notes about leaving the "love" comments out, but they just get deleted by people who clearly have no common sense. Kelakagandy (talk) 15:46, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
New Character Page?
editI don't know how to fix the first paragraph of this Wiki article! Could someone help, please?
And I'm also thinking about removing Ricardo Benigni from the page because he's not that important. In fact, Lemon-chan has been in more episodes of Yumiero Pâtissière than he has, so she should technically have a bigger priority of a biography section instead of Ricardo. If anything, I wouldn't mind having Ricardo in there, but I suggest we should make an entirely new Wiki article dedicated to the Yumeiro Pâtissière characters. That way, we could do justice to the many other characters, e.g. Kasshi, Narci, Andy, Lemon, the landlady, etc.
Also, that would give us more room to insert pictures, if we made a new character page...
Thoughts? Reeniereindeer (talk) 06:04, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- To fix the first part, just click on the "edit" button that's located at the very top (or very bottom, depending on you wikipedia style) and it will open the whole page to edit. ;]
I think we should save Ricardo on a user talk page, in case a character page is made, but definitely get rid of it off the main page. I'm not really sure we could do a character page though, simply because there aren't enough sources to do so at the moment. If we find a nice group shot of most of the main characters, we could always put that in the article already (one pic is probably max at the moment, unless we use a pic for the DS game cover, or something). Editing YP
editOkay, I figured that this would be the best place to discuss the editing that has been going on within the last day that I've had with User Mari Tennouji. I personally believe that there is too much information about Kashino and Honey-sama at the moment compared to the other characters, which presents bias and preference for these two characters more so than the other characters such as Hanabusa. I would be okay with the additional information of these two characters' paragraphs IF other characters received the same amount of details as well. However, if we went with that, then the YP article would be too long, and thus, we would probably need a new character page. So, this is why I reverted those two bios yesterday.
I also believe that talking about the characters' feelings for whomever on this article page is a bit silly because even though the anime has suggested a few triangles here and there, nothing has been officially confirmed. Even if someone wants to use the wikia Yumeiro Pâtissière page as a reference, I believe that it is not a viable reference because it, too, is just like Wikipedia --this shouldn't be an official source because it's constantly changing. (In case any outsider doesn't understand what I'm talking about, please refer to my user page.) Thus, I also removed any instances or repeats of "feelings for person A" from Henri Lucas' section, Mari Tennouji's (just removed a repeat), Kashino's (removed a repeat), and Ichigo's.
Finally, I always believed that encyclopedic articles were meant to contain summaries of a particular subject. With the changes that [[User_talk:Mari_tennouji|User Mari Tennouji, I feel that it is a bit too detailed and unnecessary, though when I did go back and reedited, I did keep some things that this person suggested because s/he made a few good points that have not been contributed before --particularly with Koshiro's section.
I have explained my revisions that I have made. If anyone wishes for me to go more into detail about my revisions, then please ask me. Reeniereindeer (talk) 16:23, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Sorry Reeniereindeer, I think you are taking this thing way too seriously. I personally like User Mari Tennouji's version as it keeps my interest for the show going. And as i looked at the edits it looks like a lot of people had supported her as well. This is just a summary page and i really do not think the ratings matter unless there's a prize involved or something. So maybe you can just let go and back off a little Thanks.

I agree. This is stupid. Reeninerindeer should back off a little. -Rikeruchan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rikeruchan (talk • contribs) 06:22, 2 September 2010 (UTC) User is sock of Mari tennouji (talk · contribs).— Dædαlus Contribs 04:38, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds great to me! (though I'm kind of biased, since all these ridiculous edits are driving me batty!) The character section definitely needs to be dealt with on almost a daily basis, because it's getting out of hand. I actually built most of the page from the ground up (there was almost nothing here when I first started editing it), and it's really kind of frustrating for people to just be adding unnecessary unsourced nonsense. :[ Kelakagandy (talk) 15:46, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
