Sam's surname

It appears that someone made an error on Samuel Glode's gravestone, after his death, but all the contemporary sources point to the spelling of his surname Glode. For example:

The 1881 Census shows the family used the name Glode when he was young ^[1]
His death certificate shows the name Glode^[2] and
In his attestation papers in WWI, he clearly signed his name Glode^[3]

I'd like to suggest that it would be more accurate, and more respectful, to use the spelling that he used.
