Talk:Preliminary messenger RNA

Latest comment: 18 years ago by Will381796
  • Hey, I noticed that too and I've done my best to correct this error. I created an article for precursor mRNA and transferred the preliminary mRNA article into it, making changes to ensure a flowing transition. I also created redirects from preliminary mRNA, preliminary messenger RNA, and pre-mRNA to the page that I created. In addition, all of the pages that linked to pre-mRNA, I went through them and changed any references to preliminary mRNA to precursor mRNA. Hopefully this corrects the problem. will381796 00:00, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, you did not use the "move" tab at the top of the article to move "Preliminary messenger RNA: to "Precursor mRNA". That would have preserved the edit history and the talk page, and would have set up a redirect automatically. Well, now you know for the next time. -R. S. Shaw 03:31, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome for my taking the initiative and doing all the work. Sorry I didn't follow "protocol," but the edit history is still available on the redirect page if its really that important. will381796 21:28, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

pre-mRNA stands for precursor mRNA not 'preliminary mRNA'

For example see the definintions in these key books pre-mRNA

This error has been propagated on the internet so preliminary mRNA now appears to have the same definition as precursor mRNA.

This needs to be fixed here and in links to here.
