Celebrity Sightings
editI propose that this section be removed from the article. It sounds more like a gossip magazine than an encyclopedia. Any thoughts? Spacecadetdan (talk) 02:40, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- I agree wholeheartedly. Garth Brooks doesn't even live within the Owasso city limits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.251.165.130 (talk) 17:45, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Section removed from article
editThis heavily editorial (and unencyclopedically written) section has been removed from the article for consideration here:
Entertainment
The Lanes at Coffee Creek bowling center was opened in 2005 and is regarded as the the top rated bowling and entertainment center in the region.
Education
Owasso's proximity to Tulsa provides its citizens with employment in a major metropolitan area, yet retains the benefits of small town living.
Owasso Public Schools are located just north of Tulsa, Oklahoma, divided north to south by Highway 169. Our community has experienced tremendous growth in the last ten years. The town continues to grow towards the north and east with many new \and Rogers Counties.
Enrollment has grown to 8,650 for the 2007-2008 school year, served by 14 instructional sites, including 7 elementary schools, 6th Grade Center, 7th Grade Center, 8th Grade Center, Mid High, Owasso High School and the Owasso Ram Academy. With construction underway at several district sites, Owasso Public Schools is working to meet the needs of our growing student population.
The Owasso School District provides excellent physical facilities and equipment to support a quality program that meets the educational requirements of the students. School buildings and auxiliary facilities afford maximum safety, protection of health, and accommodations to the physical conditions of those who use them.
In addition to an excellent teaching staff, every school has a qualified counselor and a media specialist. The Owasso Public Schools have five school nurses to accommodate the needs of the students in the system.
Owasso residents believe that education is the key to their children's future. Our schools and community are working together to provide the children with quality educational opportunities that will prepare them for a prosperous future.
Enjoy. 71.87.23.22 (talk) 19:18, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Cultural References
editShould this unverified piece be in the cultural reference section?
Can anyone find any information on the nonfictional novel or the author listed? Or a copy of any article confirming the gold coin supposedly found?
- This was added in July, 2009 by User:Nickto, but it seems nobody has found data to support this. Given the lack of evidence to support (Uncited, anyone?) it might just be time to evaluate removal to the talk page for archival purposes. Thoughts? 147.108.253.254 (talk) 19:07, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Street Names
editFrom the article: east/west streets north of what is now Broadway were named for Union generals, while the east/west streets to the south were named for Confederate generals. These names were later changed, and are now named after streets. The sentence in Bold offered me the laugh of the day but it should be changed to something useful or omitted. 24.92.208.157 (talk) 19:21, 5 May 2011 (UTC)PLC 5 May 2011
Street names "were later changed, and are now named after streets." Eh, what exactly does that mean? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.125.22.100 (talk) 21:36, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
The City Without Limits
editWhy does Owasso have jurisdiction over roads outside of town? This seems like an unusual and unique feature for a town with the nickname of "the city without limits". See the Google Maps boundaries for Owasso, it includes a large area of just roads outside of town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mujalifah (talk • contribs) 16:45, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

Introduction Information
editI recently removed the fact that "Scenes in The Outsiders film were shot in Owasso" from the introduction, however it was quickly added back in. I would propose that this be removed as it is already contained in the Cultural References section and seems more appropriately housed in that section alone. Per the manual of style, the introduction should explain why the topic of the article is noteworthy. I do not believe it is very noteworthy that some scenes of a film were shot there, especially when the film doesn't really bear any more significant relationship to the town. Plenty of movies are made every year that have scenes shot in various small towns, and it seems completely trivial to have this fact contained in the introduction to any town that has ever had scenes from a film shot there. So I would propose this factoid be removed from the introduction as it is not particularly noteworthy, and instead remain only in the cultural references section. This really strikes me as moreso trivia about the town than a reason for its noteworthiness. Thoughts? Jake (talk) 03:02, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
