Best High School? for 15 years?
editI'd like to see a source for this or otherwise I'm going to remove the comment, I doubt there is a source saying any highschool is the 'best'
The statement that the school was founded in 1914 is incorrect (refer school history by Barbara Storey). It was founded in 1912v under Nimrod Greenwood whose name is commemorated by a School House to this day!

Name
editI emailed the school and received this explanation today:
No there is no apostrophe in our name - our Deputy Principal [name] has given me a brief explanation for you. Some years ago (at least early 90's) it was determined that the word "girls" was an adjective in the name of the school - that is a high school for girls in a similar way to a high school for technology or languages. Thus "girls" is used in a similar way to technology in "technology high school", that is as an adjective. Thus it is a high school dealing with girls rather than one owned by girls, which would involve the possessive case and require an apostrophe. Hope this answers you question. I've put this in the article in a copyedited form. Dpbsmith (talk) 22:56, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- I wish I could have gone to a high school to teach me girls. They confound me to this day. :-) DoubleBlue (Talk) 23:20, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- I emailed again asking if it was OK to put this in the article. I received a reply saying that the source of the information "does not want this in the article." So, I've removed it. We're probably not bound by their request but as a courtesy I think we should honor it. The details don't seem terribly important, other than confirming that the official spelling has no apostrophe. That's just sad.
Regarding the Region of the School
editI've changed it to Crows Nest because NSGHS is actually situated in Crows Nest now. A couple of years ago it was in North Sydney. silverwolf_athame 06:18, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Cool. I've also put in the notice about the String Ensemble that you are in. Regeane Silverwolf 02:57, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
NSGHS > NSBHS
editDidnt nsghs beat the boys school in inauguaral sporting competitions? Let's keep the trivia section there as is, until the boys school wins. Creat0r 11:13, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Trivia
editShould delete trivia section. Information is outdated and irrelevant, any rankings should be merged into the main stem of the article somewhere or under another subheading.

Do we need the trivia section, really? --Lady Nimue of the Lake 09:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
CItations
editI've added a request for citations where school results have been given citing only a newspaper name. References should be given as per Wikipedia:Citing sources and the examples at Wikipedia:Citation templates. T He He 02:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
In the same edit I've removed the statements on Mr Jones for a number of reasons (let me know if there are any objections and we can discuss it here) T He He 02:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Facilities and Co-curriculum sections
editI'm considering removing the descriptions about facilities. Every high school has them, what makes North Sydney Girls so significant in having darkrooms? I'm sitting in the gym now and it's nowhere near large. Also, I'd like to point out that the Co-curriculum section does not need such a lengthy list. Most of it seems irrelevant or present in all other high schools anyway/ Farslayer (talk) 02:20, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
