Vendetta?
editGranted that Chuck Traynor seems to have been abusive, but right now this article seems to be out to denigrate him. E. g. "Couldn't maintain an erection"; I have thrown out Linda's sister later said it was disappointing that he died before she could kill him. because that simply isn't encyclopedic. - Yeah, this is a hatchet job. He doesn't come off very good no matter how you slice it, but passing on stuff from Lovelace's post-Jesus Freak inspired autobiography without qualification, and without noting how the feminist movement and Meese Commission latched on to her and encouraged her in spewing forth increasingly ridiculous exagerations is not in the interest of truth. But whatever, right? He was a scumbag, so who cares? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.148.77.146 (talk) 10:48, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Lovelace's claims of abuse by Traynor are well known, and are covered in more detail in the article on Lovelace. This article said he abused Chambers as well; is there a source for that? Since no source is cited for such a serious allegation, I took the sentence out. SethTisue (talk) 13:18, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- This guy was a total punk.If I would have been there when he hit her, I would have kicked his punk butt!99.121.70.55 (talk) 22:14, 25 December 2013 (UTC)<my gut instinct>
Production manager
editI have taken out the info that CT was "production manager" on Deep Throat as it isn't that big a deal, hope that's OK. Maikel 17:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Actually I think that needs to be placed back in the article. Deep Throat was the first feature length Adult Film produced in the US and thus is of considerable historical importance at least in relation to that industry. His participation in the creation of that film should be mentioned. Trench Raider
Mentioned in books
editChuck is mentioned in books like "Ordeal", "Out of Bondage", "Outrageous acts and Everyday rebellions". why isnt that included?Books4me (talk) 21:54, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Entrepreneur
editThe first sentence indentifies him as an entrepreneur. What did he do that identifies him as such? He doesn't seem to have ever invested in or produced movies or anything else. He was a "production manager" of Deep Throat and of his two wives porn careers, therefore "pornographer" seems appropriate, as also listed in first sentence. 66.168.21.223 (talk) 03:29, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Is this all that's known about this guy?
editHe is one of the most famous pornographers in America and this is it? I'm just really surprised there isn't more about him. I don't think it would be possible to p portray this guy in a good light. But I agree it doesn't have an encyclopedic tone. Furthermore, lie detector tests are notoriously unreliable, and reporting the results here is, to me, questionable.
The entry on Linda Lovelace is a lot better than this. You can quibble about how often he beat her or how many times she was raped, but it's pretty clear that he kept her under tight control. Just the fact that she never made any money off Deep Throat speaks volumes about Traynor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eperotao (talk • contribs) 16:04, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- My impression is that this "gentleman" was something of a shadowy figure...in that he was a free-wheeling 1970's criminal (drug dealing, running prostitutes, etc.), a group of people that, lacking legitimate employment, don't leave much of a paper trail. On top of that, in materials he's referenced in, he doesn't come across as someone who had close friends...so I don't know who's around who could report on what his past was like, biographically.
- Does anyone know where he was born and raised and by which pair of animals? Angry bee (talk) 01:58, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
What about Marilyn Chambers? She was more successful than Lovelace and was married to him too
editWhere is her opinion of Chuck Traynor? This is incredibly one-sided.
Sammy Davis, Jr.
editDidn't Lovelace/Boreman allege that Chuck Traynor had sex with Sammy Davis, Jr.? This is one of the many allegations that called into question her veracity. Joe Bob Briggs wrote a sympathetic obituary of her that calls into question her truthfulness.
Chuck Traynor's Greatness
editMr. Traynor's accomplishments far exceed his deficiencies (if he had any). His ability to live off parasitical women should be an inspiration to all men. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.20.140.196 (talk) 03:44, 1 February 2012 (UTC) No he was a horrible and evil person and is without a doubt burning in hell as we speak. 24.44.75.217 (talk) 08:08, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
