Is Claire Wilson a victim?
editCharles Whitman, an American murderer, has nothing to do with Claire Wilson, a British athlete residing in Jersey. If there is a victim named "Claire Wilson" in Texas, she must be named with an inline reference in this article, or not be a redirect at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dthomsen8 (talk • contribs) 15:25, October 20, 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, a woman named "Clair Wilson" was one of 52 victims, none of whom have articles of their own, just a mention in a list.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 23:34, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
Request for Comment
editYou, on User talk:75.68.250.246 are saying that there should be and currently is a redirect entitled Claire Wilson,redirecting readers to Charles Whitman at University of Texas tower shooting, and in particular to the list of victims. I say Claire Wilson is an athlete from Jersey and I want to create an article titled Claire Wilson about her. I am asking for an outside editor comment on the situation.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 20:27, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- Perhaps the redirect can be moved to Claire Wilson (University of Texas) without leaving a redirect and the athlete article moved into the Claire Wilson space, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 17:51, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- I have removed the
{{rfc}}
template. First, this is not a WP:RFC matter - the repurposing of redirects should be discussed at WP:RFD. Second, Dthomsen8 (talk · contribs) seems to have created at least three identical RfCs on different pages (others include Talk:Claire Wilson#Request for Comment and Talk:University of Texas tower shooting#Request for Comment), in clear contravention of WP:MULTI. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:11, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
Brain Tumor, source 60
editThe current writing in Section "Death and inquest" and sub heading "Autopsy" states that "During the autopsy, Chenar discovered a "pecan-sized" brain tumor,[60] which he labeled an astrocytoma and which exhibited a small amount of necrosis. He concluded that the tumor had no effect on Whitman's actions."
This is not reflected in the source given or the source after as it is a dead link. Source 60 states to the contrary "A pathologist reported Whitman was in virtually perfect health at the time of the shooting but the jury report said a brain tumour "undoubtedly" caused him such mental pain and possibly contributed to his actions."
I think the section needs to be rewritten and more sources need to obtained but at least the line "He concluded that the tumor had no effect on Whitman's actions." Should be removed.
