Art fair
editI notice that the article Art fair redirects to Art exhibition. Art fairs are something very specific, with a specific history and a different structure. The can include exhibition but they are not just another term to call an art exhibition. I think it would be appropriate to separate the two articles. I also noticed that at the moment many articles point to art fair (which makes sense since they are art fairs) and they redirect improperly here. --Iopensa (talk) 15:00, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- There are no "two articles" to separate, since no one has written anything much on art fairs. If they do I would agree with you. Johnbod (talk) 17:02, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Survey show
editThe definition of survey show given here -- a show about a "specific theme or topic" -- does not seem helpful. Survey exhibitions are generally an overview of the work of either a movement, genre or an artist. See for example https://www.si.edu/newsdesk/releases/hirshhorn-presents-ragnar-kjartansson-s-first-major-survey-exhibition where the "survey exhibition' is described as "The exhibition is the first comprehensive overview." Shouldn't this definition of a survey exhibition here be rewritten, to avoid conveying an inaccurate idea? AtomAnt (talk) 14:37, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- simplified that bit. Johnbod (talk) 15:41, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Curated exhibits
editThere should be a distinction between a curated vs non curated. An exhibit curator selects the best art (like a juror) but also strives to ensure that the art works well together to tell a story and/or engage the audience on a specific theme or topic. This can occur in museums and nonprofit art galleries, including university galleries, but rarely in commercial selling galleries. Jaquatrale123 (talk) 11:43, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
